Al Getz is in the ring cutting a promo saying there are two title matches tonight. Getz wants Jeff G. Bailey and Steve Martin to come down to the ring. Martin and Bailey make their way out to join the segment. Getz says there’s been something on his mind lately. Getz promoted the title matches that were mentioned in the previous segment. However, Getz says it is never a fair fight. Getz knows their tricks and knows what they are up to. Getz is going to make sure it is a fair fight. Getz books Stone Mountain vs. Scottie Wrenn inside a steel cage that way nobody can get in. Getz reveals that Bailey and Martin are barred from ringside for the tag title match. Getz scares them off with his baseball bat. Getz finishes off with his catchphrase.

MATCH #1: LAZZ VS. MARK E. MARK
FINISH:
Late in the match, Onyx came out to distract Lazz. Lazz hits a spear on Mark, but is attacked by Onyx. Lazz is met with a double hip toss and the referee calls for the bell. Onyx powerslams Lazz and Mark hits a swanton bomb off the top rope. Silky Boom Boom and Adam Jacobs run into the ring to make the save.

Bob’s Take: I feel like most of the time the mainstream promotions would treat a Lazz character as a heel for the typical lazy heel heat, but Wildside is doing a different approach and promoting Lazz as a babyface, which has been successful thus far. Action wasn’t too bad, but the aftermath is what had the entertainment. I’m looking forward to a Lazz vs. Onyx match as they’ve done well with the angle.
Match Rating: **

Backstage, Stan Lee cuts a promo about him being the greatest athlete to ever step foot in the Wildside arena. Lee says nobody will ever be as good as him.

MATCH #2: WILDSIDE TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS BAD ATTITUDE VS. TERRY KNIGHT & EDDIE GOLDEN
FINISH:
Late in the match, there’s a referee bump in the corner allowing both teams to brawl on the floor and in the crowd. Eventually, the bell sounds and it looks like the match has been thrown out. Security comes out to try and get order. After the match, Al Getz comes out and says this is crap and puts over Bad Attitude. Getz is ordering a rematch to take place. The match will be no disqualification anything goes.

Bob’s Take: It’s a competitive tag match with both teams putting in a good effort. I was worried that this was going to be a time filler and end up being angle advancement, but it was actually more of an actual tag bout. Knight and Golden looked well as a team, too. At one point, Young and Golden both used title shots, but the referee didn’t call for the bell. Anyway, there wasn’t a finish, which doesn’t surprise me. But, they made good use of the time before the pull apart angle at the end.
Match Rating: **1/4

MATCH #3: ROMEO BLISS VS. STAN LEE
FINISH:
Lee hits a superplex, but Romeo manages to counter with a cradle and pins Lee for the win.

Bob’s Take: Stan Lee is basically a cosplay of Flair or Landell. Which, I feel like I’ve seen before in Wildside so it’s not anything new. At one point Romeo had a lot of interest, but seems tohae been cooled off considerably. I think it’s safe to say this was mostly time filler. There wasn’t much heat to the match and I didn’t care for it either.
Match Rating: *

WOW Magazine TV Weekly segment with Bill Apter is up next. Apter talks about the controversy between Hulk Hogan and Jeff Jarrett at WCW Bash at the Beach 2000. Apter says Hogan is upset and describes the situation that is going on a little more. I’m sure you know the history of this situation. Apter doesn’t know what is a work or not a work anymore.

MAIN EVENT: WILDSIDE HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION STONE MOUNTAIN VS. SCOTTIE WRENN — STEEL CAGE MATCH
FINISH:
Well, the match is still happening as the show goes off the air.

Bob’s Take: Wrenn actually got far more offense than anyone has to this point in Wildside on Stone Mountain, but I think the angle here is pretty obvious. I don’t think the heel turn by Wrenn has been all that successful and JC Dazz hasn’t had anything of note happen since their split. They are probably better together. I’m not liking this habit of not showing the completion of the match on TV.
Match Rating: NR

Final Thoughts:
An average episode this week with the advancement of Onyx/Lazz and a decent tag title match. I wish the main event had the finish shown, but hopefully they explain what happened on TV next week. I think Wrenn is getting kicked out of the NWA Elite.
