Angle Developments/Notes:
1.) Raven and Taka kickoff the tag match with Taka doing a sumo taunt. Taka chops Raven, but Raven responds with a chop. They trade a few chops until Raven eye poke Taka. Lynn forearms Taka from the apron and Funaki tags in. Raven drop toe holds Funaki and taunts Taka. Lynn enters the ring and dropkicks Funaki while Raven put a chin lock on him. Lynn runs the ropes, but Taka pulls the ropes down sending Lynn to the floor. Taka strikes Lynn on the floor and Funaki covers for a two count. Lynn ducks a clothesline and is met with a knee lift to the midsection. Funaki double stomps Lynn on the mat and Taka enters the match. Taka strikes Lynn and drop toe holds Lynn. Kaientai deliver the dropkick/chin lock combo to Lynn. Taka boot scrapes Lynn on the mat and puts a sleeper on Lynn. Taka heads to the top rope, but is met with a dropkick in midair. Raven tags into the match and cleans house with strikes. Raven clotheslines Taka out of the corner. Raven bulldogs Funaki out of the corner for a near fall. Raven hits a DDT to Funaki while Lynn plants Taka with a tornado DDT leading to a stereo pin for the win. (*1/2. Lynn and Raven provided a fun tag team, but this is a one-off and completely random pairing.)
2.) Gunn backs Kwik into a corner, but misses a strike. Kwik punches Gunn a few times, but Gunn stops Kwik. Kwik avoids a hip toss and delivers a sit out hip toss. Kwik does a little bit of dancing and taunts Gunn. Kwik puts a hammerlock on Gunn, but Gunn elbows free only for Kwik to deliver a drop toe hold and a rollup for a two count. Gunn hits a tilt a whirl slam. Gunn pummels Kwik on the mat with right hands. Gunn pulls Kwik’s hair against the ropes. Gunn decks Kwik with a right hand for a near fall. Kwik sunset flips Gunn for a two count. Gunn kicks Kwik and delivers a boot in the corner. Kwik avoids a clothesline to deliver a back suplex. Kwik punches Gunn a few times and hits a leaping forearm smash. Kwik head scissors Gunn to the mat and hits a flatliner for a two count. Kwik avoids Gunn in the corner and ducks a clothesline. Gunn counters an attempted heel kick with a sloppy powerbomb for the win. (*. Kwik isn’t going to have a spot on the main roster once the WCW/ECW guys fully join the roster.)
Final Thoughts:
They went heavy on recaps of the main programming this week. There wasn’t much going on here and the action wasn’t all that enjoyable.
