In memory of NWA Announcer Gordon Solie. Solie had passed away on July 27th. Wildside tends to tape a few weeks of TV in advance hence the delay in the mention and graphic.

Steven Prazak opens the show, but Steve Martin enters the scene. Prazak credits Martin for the spot in Wildside. Martin is not happy with Prazak for bad talking him. Prazak claims he’s calling it even, but Martin wants him to lean towards the NWA Elite.

In the ring, commissioner Al Getz is in the ring to cut a promo. Getz has an announcement regarding a match on the show this week. Getz announces that Mark E. Mark will compete against Lazz. Getz also says that Onyx is banned from ringside. Getz warns Steve Martin that he’s keeping his eyes on him and says that if Martin keeps interfering than he’ll take care of him. Steve Martin and Jeff G. Bailey make their way out to confront Getz. Martin suggests Getz has been on his knees for five years. Martin reveals that Bad Attitude aren’t there because they don’t have the guts to see them. Martin warns if Bad Attitude isn’t there next TV taping he will strip them of the tag titles. Martin announces he has two bodyguards and reveals the Cole Brothers are back in Wildside. Getz goes to the floor and suggests they pump each other. Getz also has a couple of bodyguards and Total Destruction comes out. That leads to both teams brawling until the locker room empties out to pull them apart.

Outside, Total Destruction promise what happened will not happen again with the Cole Brothers. Their idea of good time is rolling a j and drinking beer. They’ve been needing someone worth a damn to wrestle them in Wildside. They have beaten up everyone in Wildside. This is not the Brother Love Show and they do not love them.

MATCH #1: CENTERFOLDS (FRENCHY RIVERA, JOHN ARDEN & KENNY ARDEN) VS. AMERICAN MALES (ADAM JACOBS & SILKY BOOM-BOOM)
FINISH:
Jacobs picks up the win following a top rope leg drop after a hurricanrana by Boom Boom onto John Arden. After the match, the Centerfolds show they are okay by doing a strut.

Bob’s Take: The Centerfolds are two plus-sized wrestlers and their manager, who is also plus-sized. Frenchy Rivera has been in Wildside before. They do reference the American Males from WCW and how they have nothing in common with Jacobs and Boom-Boom. It was honestly the first thing I thought of when I heard the American Males name. At one point, the Centerfolds are put in a compromising position, but the crowd doesn’t react to it. I guess this is basically a handicap match even though it was not advertised as being one originally. The finish was good, but the match itself was mostly boring.
Match Rating: *

MATCH #2: WILDSIDE HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION STONE MOUNTAIN VS. MIKE YOUNGBLOOD — NON-TITLE
FINISH:
Mountain wins following the Landslide.

Bob’s Take: Youngblood actually gets a bit of offense and probably the most offense on Mountain that has been shown on TV to this point. It’s not much in terms of damaging, but it’s notable considering the dominance that Mountain has shown thus far. I’m a fan of Mountain and his dominance is something I’m not tired of, at all. I’m curious who will be the next challenger for Mountain’s title, too.
Match Rating: *

Backstage, Jeff G. Bailey, Steve Martin and the Cole Brothers cut a promo. Bailey calls Total Destruction two drunks and drug addicts who pretend to be wrestlers. Bailey says they are starting at Bally’s soon and they’re going to be even bigger. Bailey believes they can make it to the top. Bailey promises if they can beat Total Destruction they can run Wildside.

MATCH #3: CHAM PAIN & ICE VS. WHITE TRASH & WILL POWERS
FINISH:
Late in the match, White Trash whacks Will Powers with a stop sign due to Powers not tagging out to him. Trash walks out. Pain pins Powers following a reverse DDT.

Bob’s Take: Ice impressed in his first outing on Wildside TV and is now in a random tag team with Cham Pain. Trash is reminding of Ian Rotten, and whether that’s a good or bad thing is up to you. Pain is a bit cocky during the match deciding against tagging out, but ends up working with Ice. Will Powers is more of a country club looking guy and he’s not helping Trash at all. Ice impresses again with a springboard leg drop and several kicks in the corner. Ice’s style is very much what would become the ROH style. It’s a fine angle advancement and I actually wouldn’t mind seeing Trash destroy Powers. Powers character is one you’d want to see get beaten up.
Match Rating: *1/2

In the ring, Jeff G. Bailey cuts a promo saying that Onyx is on vacation and proceeds to insult Lazz. Bailey promises that Mark E. Mark will finish off Lazz tonight. Mark is doing more a hip-hop gimmick now.

MAIN EVENT: LAZZ VS. MARK E. MARK
FINISH:
Lazz picks up the win following a running spear.

Bob’s Take: Throughout the match, Lazz makes Mark uncomfortable and the fans absolutely love it. I find it entertaining as it’s clearly mind games and it’s been done in an entertaining manner. Lazz hits a nice somersault dive off the top to the floor during the match. Mark was a bit sloppy with some of his offense. Lazz is over with the crowd and should be one of the major thorns in NWA Elite’s side.
Match Rating: *1/2

Final Thoughts:
Kind of a skippable episode of Wildside this week as there wasn’t major developments taking place. Ice (Caprice Coleman) is a great addition to the show from a work rate standpoint. I hope Lazz gets a push because he’s over and doing very well entertaining the audience. There’s still a while to go before their next big event in October. As I said earlier, I’m not sure who could step up to challenge Stone Mountain, but I’m interested in finding out.
