1.) Jim Ross and Michael Hayes host the program. Ross goes over the matches scheduled to take place on the show.

2.) Jake Roberts wins his enhancement match after hitting the DDT in short order.

3.) Missy Hyatt shares her thoughts on Jake Roberts and says he reminds her of a slimy snake. She promises that Roberts won’t be mentioned on her bachelor series.

4.) Jim Ross and Michael Hayes discuss the issue between WCW United States Champion Rick Rude and Nikita Koloff. Madusa was barred from the Omni, but ended up appearing as a security officer and kicked Koloff costing Koloff his rematch with Rude. 5.) Simmons backs Smothers into a corner, but cleanly backs off and Smothers complains of a hair pull that never happened. Simmons arm drags Smothers and Smothers complains again. Smothers gets in Simmons face seemingly saying he’s going to win the title. Simmons shoves Smothers into a corner, but the referee steps in front. Simmons shoulder blocks Smothers followed by a forearm strike. Simmons press slams Smothers and Smothers rolls to the floor to regroup. Smothers walks up the aisle, but is stopped by Simmons and brought back to the ring. Simmons punches Smothers several times and hits a snap powerslam for the win. (*. Obviously, this is a complete squash. I think I need to stop thinking that Smothers is going to be given any sort of shine. This isn’t SMW Tracy Smothers, after all.)

6.) They showed the Cactus Jack vs. Ricky Steamboat match that aired on the 8/15 edition of WCW Worldwide.

7.) Marcus Alexander Bagwell won his enhancement match with a Thez Press.

8.) Sting scoop slams Slater to kickoff the main event and Slater backs off upon getting up. Slater puts a headlock on Sting, but is backed against the ropes. Sting counters with a vertical suplex for a two count. Sting keeps arm control on Slater, but doesn’t get a submission. Slater elbows Sting coming off the ropes. Slater hits a side Russian leg sweep for a near fall. Slater locks in an abdominal stretch in the middle of the ring. Sting breaks free with a hip toss, but Slater chops Sting followed by strikes. Sting blocks a strike and hammers away on Slater. Sting decks Slater to the mat. Sting rams Slater into the corner face first. Sting kicks Slater and hits a dropkick as Slater comes off the ropes. Slater elbows Sting over the back. Slater tries to ram Sting into the corner, but Sting counters and sends Slater into the corner. Sting fakes a splash in the corner and almost wins with a rollup. Slater clubs Sting over the back and tries for a neckbreaker, but Sting counters trying for a backslide. Slater doesn’t go down and elbows Sting over the back. Slater tries for a pilediver but Sting counters with a backdrop and stays on top to win the match. After the match, Greg Valentine enters the ring and attacks Sting. Sting is met with a double elbow strike. Nikita Koloff slides into the ring and makes the save. Sting hits the Stinger Splash on Slater to end the segment. (*1/2. I feel like any time watching Sting in these TV main events are automatically entertaining, but the action here wasn’t all that exciting largely due to Slater. The crowd loves Sting so the viewing of the match wasn’t the worst time.)

Final Thoughts:
An average, but skippable episode of Main Event this week. It’s not difficult hour to watch, but there wasn’t much development to what’s going on in WCW.
