World Championship Wrestling presents Power Hour
Date:
10/17/1992

Matches:
1.) Shane Douglas defeated George South
2.) Terry Gordy & Steve Williams defeated Italian Stallion & Ricky Nelson
3.) Van Hammer defeated Kenny Kendall
4.) The Barbarian & Jake Roberts defeated WCW World Champion Ron Simmons & Nikita Koloff

Angle Developments/Notes:
1.) Shane Douglas won his enhancement match following a belly to belly suplex.

2.) Jim Ross hosts the Halloween Havoc Control Center. Havoc takes place next weekend and Ross says he’s going to reveal the entire card for the event. We see the liability waivers being signed on Saturday Night by Sting and Jake Roberts. Sting doesn’t have any regret about signing the liability contract. We hear from the WCW Tag Team Champions Barry Windham and Dustin Rhodes. Windham stops Rhodes from answering and says they don’t answer every question made by the media, but promises they will still be the champions after Havoc. They rundown the entire card for Havoc.

3.) Teddy Long does a wrestler profile on WCW United States Champion Rick Rude. Long talks about Rude arriving last year at Halloween Havoc and within a month won the WCW United States Championship. We see highlights of Rude breaking Steamboat’s nose earlier in the year on WCW Worldwide. Long also highlights the issues between Rude and Nikita Koloff.

4.) Terry Gordy and Steve Williams won their enhancement match when Williams pinned Nelson after a running powerslam. Gordy did throw Stallion over the top rope at the same time, but the referee ignored the blatant disqualification.

5.) We see footage from the Chono/Muta match from Japan, which had been shown in full previously on WCW television.

6.) Missy Does The Mail hosted by Missy Hyatt is next. Hyatt talks about Scott Steiner competing on his own since Rick Steiner suffered an injury in Japan. Scott brought Marcus Alexander Bagwell to the ring to battle Brian Pillman and Steve Austin on WCW Worldwide. Arn Anderson attacked Bagwell on the floor causing Scott to wrestle the remainder of the match on his own.

7.) Van Hammer won his enhancement match following a slingshot suplex.

8.) The tag team main event originally aired on the 10/10 edition of WCW Worldwide.

Final Thoughts:
A decent episode of Power Hour. Scott Steiner heel turn is something I can get behind. Havoc is shaping up to be a good card and I’m ready to move past it on TV.
