Girlfriend Watches: WWF SNME #21

In the last poll, there was a tie between ECW Barely Legal 1997 and WCW Bash at the Beach 1996 to be viewed on a future edition. It’s likely that she’ll watch Barely Legal first. There’s no timeframe on when this will happen, but be on the lookout for it!

The previous two editions of this series saw my girlfriend, Carly, watched WCW UnCensored 1995 and WWF King of the Ring 1996. Both of which, are three hour pay per views. This time around, I decided to go with a change of pace and length. Carly sat down and watched a WWF Saturday Night Main Event from 1989. The hour special usually had several high profile matches in a tighter time schedule.

Find out Carly’s reaction to guys like Rick Rude, Randy Savage, Big Bossman, and Demolition! (more…)

The fourteenth installment of Would You Go To This Show brings us to Little Rock, Arkansas for a World Championship Wrestling live event. The event took place on January 3rd, and has a rather interesting main event.

A little bit of a background before looking at the card. The New World Order is full steam ahead with Hogan, Nash and Hall dominating the company. Sting hasn’t competed in a match since September and was routinely up in the rafters. As you’ll see for the show, there was a lot of changes shortly after the show, which I’ll touch upon. (more…)

You Should Know The Name… Colin Delaney

ZtsP04_z

In December 2007, Colin Delaney made his debut for World Wrestling Entertainment in a losing effort against Shelton Benjamin. For roughly the next eight months, Delaney competed on the ECW brand and would regularly lose to guys like Great Khali, Miz, John Morrison and others. By the summer of 2008, Delaney would turn heel and cost Tommy Dreamer the ECW Championship, but wouldn’t be pushed heavily and was released by the WWE in August of 2008.

I’m sure many people forgot all about that and never think about it, which is understandable. There may be people reading this today that have no idea who the hell Colin Delaney is. If that’s the case, well, it is time you know just what Colin Delaney is all about and what you’ve missed. (more…)

Would You Go To This Show? Volume 1

WCW logo

Hello everyone and welcome to the first installment of “Would You Go To This Show”! The idea of the column is myself and a few guests will take a look at a random card, whether it be a house show, pay per view or maybe even a television taping, to see if we would attend the show. I hope people who read this would share their thoughts on a show, and if you happened to attend the show you leave some feedback in the comments below! (more…)

Take The Book #4: WWF WrestleMania VIII

WrestleMania VIII happened on April 5th, 1992. The original card was carried by essentially three matches. Randy Savage vs. Ric Flair for the WWF World Championships, Bret Hart vs. Roddy Piper for the WWF Intercontinental Championship and Hulk Hogan taking on Sid Justice in the main event. I’ve always considered it to be one of my favorite Manias because it’s one of the first. However, I’ve looked at the card and the roster at that time and figured I could make a better show. So, here is my attempt at that. Of course, this is assuming everything went smooth and there weren’t any firings during the year. (more…)
