WWE Night Of Champions 2011 Predictions
Wrestling Thoughts
Seventh Edition
Written by: Bob Colling
Tonight the WWE presents the Night of Champions. Every championship is on the line as is the COO position. Here are my predictions for the event.
WWE Divas Championship:
© Kelly Kelly vs. Beth Phoenix
I’m going for Phoenix here. She is from Buffalo, NY so that would be a nice little touch. I’m hoping that the WWE will try to make it a more wrestling oriented division instead of having attractive women botch moves for 3-5 minutes at a time.
WWE World Tag Team Championships:
©) Air Boom vs. Awesome Truth
Since Miz and R-Truth won singles matches over Kofi Kingston and Evan Bourne , I can’t imagine them also winning the tag titles. They don’t need the titles, and neither do Kingston and Bourne really. Air Boom retain.
WWE United States Championship:
© Dolph Ziggler vs. Alex Riley vs. John Morrison vs. Jack Swagger
I really don’t know who is going to win this match. I’m not entirely sure how Morrison got involved in this since he was feuding and losing to R-Truth on a weekly basis, so I will not pick him. Swagger could win to continue his feud with Ziggler, which is very likely the more I think of it. Then you got Alex Riley who, if I recall correctly has a win over Ziggler on RAW. Hmmm… I’m going to pick Swagger but if Riley wins I will not be surprised at all.
WWE Intercontinental Championship:
© Cody Rhodes vs. Ted DiBiase
Personally, I think Rhodes is a stud. He has developed a character from an actual injury and has excelled at getting over and improved greatly in the ring over the past year or so. I’m still not all that interested in DiBiase, but I think Rhodes is on to bigger and better things on the Smackdown side and you might as well TRY to get DiBiase over. I’ll pick DiBiase to win singles gold tonight!
WWE World Heavyweight Championship:
© Randy Orton vs. Mark Henry
This might be the best chance for Mark Henry to win the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. He has been built up as a beast on Smackdown having taken out Kane and the Big Show. He took care of Sheamus too, but now he goes for the gold. I’m not sure where Orton goes from here but I don’t think Henry wins the title here. I have a hard time believing they will put the title on a guy who once had an arm for a kid with Mae Young. Don’t believe me? Look it up.
WWE World Championship:
©Alberto Del Rio vs. John Cena
God, I hope John Cena doesn’t win the championship. Del Rio needs to have more than a month reign as the champion. I’m hoping that Del Rio will cheat his way to victory. I just have zero interest in Cena with the championship.
No Disqualification Match: (If HHH loses he must quit as COO)
HHH vs. CM Punk
I strongly doubt that Punk will prevail here. Remember that guy HHH fired on RAW a few weeks ago? Yeah, Kevin Nash. I think it’s a safe bet that Nash returns at the pay per view and swerves the world by helping HHH win and cementing HHH’s heel turn.
There you have it, my last minute predictions. Enjoy the show!
