World Wrestling Federation presents Wrestling Challenge
Date: 11/14/1992
From: Regina, CN
Matches:
1.) Razor Ramon defeated Dale Hutchinson
2.) Max Moon defeated Barry Horowitz
3.) Yokozuna defeated Shane Croft
4.) Shawn Michaels defeated Big Bossman by count-out
5.) The Natural Disasters defeated Brian Costello & Jim Peterson
Angle Developments/Notes:
1.) There were two different versions that aired in different markets. The other version aired on 11/15 and instead of Bossman vs. Michaels, the program showed the full match between Michaels and Bulldog on SNME.
2.) This edition is aired the same day as Saturday’s Night Main Event. Every WWF championship will be defended on the program. Monsoon and Heenan promote the show.
3.) WWF Special Report with Lord Alfred Hayes focuses on the coffin match between the Undertaker and Kamala. We see footage of Undertaker continuing to make a special coffin for Kamala at Survivor Series. Harvey Wippleman cuts a promo saying that Kamala will be the man to win the coffin match. Wippleman suggests Undertaker measure himself very well because Kamala isn’t afraid and will prove it.
4.) During Max Moon’s match, the mysterious clown is seen in the crowd.
5.) Mr. Fuji is in Yokozuna’s corner, but Fuji hasn’t adopted the look that many people would associate with this act. Fuji is still wearing the same attire he wore while managing tag teams such as Powers of Pain and Demolition.
6.) WWF World Champion Bret Hart is interviewed on the podium. Hart says it feels good to be the WWF World Champion and it doesn’t get any better than this. Hart is proud to be the best. Hart isn’t going to hide behind the title. Hart is going to take on all challengers and it doesn’t matter if he has to take on Shawn Michaels, Papa Shango or Ric Flair. Hart knows he’ll have to get back in the ring with Flair at some point. Hart repeats Flair’s line about beating the man to be the man. Hart is happy to say he’s the man.
7.) Bossman controls Michaels with a headlock and holds Michaels hair to keep the hold locked in. Michaels backs Bossman into a corner and delivers a right hand. Michaels strikes Bossman several times. Michaels avoids Bossman and delivers more right hands. Bossman slides to the floor and misses a clothesline. Bossman boots Michaels followed by a clothesline. Bossman slaps Michaels across the face and pummels Michaels with right hands. Bossman punches Michaels followed by a headbutt to the chest. Bossman decks Michaels to the mat. Bossman heads to the top rope, but misses a strike and lands throat first over the top rope. Michaels stomps Bossman on the mat several times. Michaels jabs Bossman several times. Bossman bounces on the ropes before dropping to the mat. Michaels dropkicks Bossman to the mat. Michaels pummels Bossman on the mat. Michaels tries for a teardrop suplex, but Bossman punches to avoid it. Bossman uppercuts Michaels. Bossman strikes Michaels and delivers a back elbow. Bossman uppercuts Michaels again. Bossman splashes Michaels over the middle rope. Bossman slides to the floor and punches Michaels off the middle rope. Bossman misses a leaping headbutt attempt. Bossman staggers, but Michaels superkicks Bossman over the top to the floor. Nailz makes his way down to the ringside area to distract Bossman. The referee counts Bossman out. After the match, Michaels holds Bossman, but Bossman avoids a nightstick strike by kicking Nailz and grabs the nightstick to stalk Nailz at ringside. (*1/2. The action was alright, but the aftermath was a bit cringe as Nailz is really bad at performing. It came across rather awkward and heatless.)
8.) Mean Gene hosts the Survivor Series Report running down the card.
9.) A vignette promoting the return of Bam-Bam Bigelow is shown.
10.) The mysterious clown appeared on the aisle during the Natural Disasters match. Doing whacked a kid with his toy hammer.
Final Thoughts:
Plenty of hype for Saturday Night’s Main Event this week. An average episode for Wrestling Challenge this week. I think we’re ready for Survivor Series at this point.
Thanks for reading.
