1.)WWF World Tag Team Champions Owen Hart & Yokozuna defeated Jim Dimitre & Gus Kantarrakis
2.)Jean Pierre Lafitte defeated David Thornberg
3.)Shawn Michaels defeated IRS
4.)Kama defeated Billy Mack
Angle Developments/Notes:
1.IRS says that Shawn Michaels is going to be the heartbroken kid. Shawn Michaels says he is going slap around the taxman, which is something everyone wants to do!
2.The WWF World Tag Team Champions competed in tag team action to kick off the contest. Owen Hart forced Dimitre to submit to the Sharpshooter to win the bout.
3.Jean Pierre Lafitte competed in singles action this week. Lafitte won the squash match after hitting the Cannonball off the top rope.
4.A video promoting Fatu going back to San Francisco. He is going to be trying his luck as a singles wrestler. His new gimmick sees him being a motivational speaker, pretty much. He is going to make a difference in the WWF.
5.Michaels stalls early on playing to the crowd to get under IRS’s skin. IRS bails to the floor after he is taken down to mat by Michaels. IRS yanks Michaels down by his hair and bails to the floor. Michaels follows IRS and hammers away on him briefly. Michaels drops IRS throat first across the top rope and delivers a right hand for a two count. Michaels continues his offense with a hip toss and a dropkick for a two count. IRS sends Michaels over the top to the floor. Michaels nearly rolls IRS up for a win but IRS regains control by working on Michaels in the corner. IRS has an abdominal stretch on Michaels and uses the ropes for extra leverage. IRS has a sleeper on Michaels as RAW goes to commercial. IRS slams Michaels and leaps off the top but Michaels gets his foot up! Michaels delivers a leaping forearm shot and heads to the top rope. Michaels gets a two count after a double axe handle! IRS avoids the superkick and connects with a clothesline! IRS misses Michaels in the corner and Michaels hits a superkick for the win.
6.We go back to Dr. Isaac Yankeem’s office where he is working on a young child’s teeth. Yankeem rips out a tooth, and Lawler says that Yankeem is going to yank out Bret Hart’s teeth one by one.
7.Kama competed in singles action. He won his squash match with a right hand.
8.Vince McMahon introduces WWF World Champion Diesel to introduce his lumberjacks. Diesel opens up by saying that Psycho Sid is a chicken. Diesel knows that you can’t buy friends. He says that Sid can’t hide from him in Nashville. He says that the fans are going to see the end of Sid’s career, or he will win the championship which Diesel feels like will not be happening. Here come the lumberjacks which are just the top babyfaces in the company. There is no real surprises here. Shawn Michaels will be a lumberjack as well. The champ begins to mock Sid acting as if he is getting beaten up. Diesel asks Bigelow and Michaels what they will do to Sid. They pretty much say they are going to get their shots in. Sid walks out and has a stare down with Diesel from the aisle way. Sid walks up the steps and Diesel wants Sid to enter the ring. Sid decides against entering the ring and backs away.
Final Thoughts:
I thought it was an average episode as the go home episode before the pay per view. The featured match wasn’t all that entertaining but the fans love Michaels. The last segment hyping up Diesel/Sid was okay, but I don’t like how they are making Sid look like a coward. Oh well…
Thanks for reading.
