Tomorrow night the WWE returns to pay per view with the return of No Way Out. Here is the card for the event along with my predictions for the matches.
Pre-Show Match:
Brodus Clay vs. David Otunga
Not a whole lot of interest in this match, personally. It’s a good thing it’s just a preshow match, I guess. I would actually be fully behind a victory for Otunga, but Clay should prevail here.
For the WWE Divas Championship:
[champion] Layla vs. Beth Phoenix
Layla’s championship run has been uninteresting and it seems like she hasn’t exactly connected with the crowd or anything. I’m thinking Phoenix regains the championship and we will soon get a showdown between Awesome Kong and Phoenix.
Tuxedo Match:
WWE United States Champion Santino Marella vs. Ricardo Rodriguez
I can appreciate a good comedy angle, and that’s what this is basically. Ricardo is becoming one of the best characters in the WWE and they need to start using him in a bigger role. Last I knew, the kid can wrestle so it’s not like he would embarrass himself out there. As for this match, Ricardo doesn’t stand a chance against the champ.
For the WWE Intercontinental Championship:
[champion] Christian vs. Cody Rhodes
This should be a quality match between Christian and Rhodes. I’ve never been a fan of short title reigns, and I don’t expect Christian’s run to end this Sunday. Christian should be able to take care of Cody, and hopefully this would mean Cody jumps up the card and works with Sheamus in the near future.
For the WWE World Heavyweight Championship:
[champion] Sheamus vs. Dolph Ziggler
Alberto Del Rio getting a concussion makes this match a possibility. Ziggler is probably in the top three for the best workers in the WWE right now. He is going to make Sheamus look like a million bucks, just like he does every night. I like Ziggler to be champion later on in the year, but right now it just wouldn’t work. Sheamus is on fire and should continue to plow through the Smackdown roster.
For the WWE Championship:
[champion] CM Punk vs. Daniel Bryan vs. Kane
I’m expecting Punk’s reign to come to an end. I think it’s time for a change as Punk’s reign lost a lot of steam due to the not so great feud with Chris Jericho. I’m expecting Bryan to walk out the champion after he outsmarts Kane or something like that. Kane should be able to take Punk out with a choke slam or something along those lines and Bryan sneaks in to win the WWE Championship. Bryan is ridiculously over and should be rewarded with the top prize. YES. YES. YES.
Steel Cage Match:
John Cena vs. Big Show
First off, I don’t like the stipulation that if Show loses Johnny Ace is fired nor do I like the stipulation of Cena being fired if he loses. Why? Because either way we are losing the top heel or face of the company with SummerSlam right around the corner. How much are they looking to put into Big Show? Is he going to win and take out Cena for the summer? That doesn’t seem right. It would seem realistic and a chance for Cena to deal with his personal life issues with his wife. If Ace were to be fired it would hurt RAW by losing one of the better characters on that brand. There just doesn’t seem to be a reasonable explanation to have those stipulations. Anyway, I’m going to pick Big Show to win and Cena ends up being fired for a few months.
Those are my predictions for the event. I hope everyone enjoys the pay per view and feel free to leave your predictions for the event tomorrow night!
