TNA Turning Point 2012 Predictions!
Total Non-Stop Action returns to pay per view tomorrow night with Turning Point. Here is the card for the event along with my predictions.
TNA Knockouts Champion Tara & Jesse vs. TNA Knockout Tag Team Champions ODB & Eric Young
Why on earth are there still still Knockout Tag Team Championship? This feud doesn’t interest my at all, either. It would appear that EY is on his way out the door since his television show for National Geographic is doing well, so I’m going to pick Tara and Jesse to win.
DOC vs. Joseph Parks
I’m not sure why, but I think DOC is a great name for the man formerly known as Luke Gallows. The Aces and Eights need to remain strong and thus DOC should be able to walk out with the win here. In other news, I miss Abyss.
For the TNA X-Division Championship:
[champion] Rob Van Dam defends against Joey Ryan
The champion here doesn’t need the championship and shouldn’t be in the X-Division to begin with. That is rather baffling as to why he is not in a main event role. Sure, RVD isn’t the greatest guy and lacks motivation, but come on. I’m thinking Matt Morgan costs RVD the match and Ryan wins the gold. Thus, we will get a Morgan/RVD feud soon enough.
Devon vs. Kurt Angle
Yeah, the Aces and Eights need to stay strong, but I have a hard time buying into Devon beating Kurt Angle. That just doesn’t feel right to me. So, maybe Angle wins by disqualification to avoid Devon getting a clean win? Yeah, lets go with that.
For the TNA Television Championship – No Disqualification Match
[champion] Samoa Joe vs. Magnus
While I like Magnus a lot, this reign by Samoa Joe needs to be a long run and dominating. Eventually, I could see this allowing Joe to reach the main event scene once again and he will come across as being a fresh face. Joe wins this one and maybe Magnus gets bloodied to really put Joe over as a dominate force in TNA.
For the TNA World Tag Team Championships:
[champions] Chavo Guerrero Jr. & Hernandez vs. Christopher Daniels & Kazarian
The standard rematch here to let the champions get an impressive victory. No reason for the titles to switch here. I just don’t know who the champs would feud with next.
#1 Contenders Match:
Bobby Roode vs. James Storm vs. AJ Styles
So, the person who loses the match will not be able to get a title shot until Bound For Glory 2013. Roode and Storm have been in the title picture for most of the past year or so while Styles had been feuding with Daniels most of the time. Personally, James Storm can’t lose this match. The guy was on the brink of winning the championship earlier this year and had a lot of momentum. If he loses, there goes any of his momentum. Then, you have Bobby Roode who would be wrestling the same people over and over again. Styles hasn’t really been in the main event picture in a while so that could help him there. My guess is that James Storm will win the match and pin Roode in the process.
For the TNA World Heavyweight Championship – Ladder Match
[champion] Jeff Hardy defends against Austin Aries
I’m interested to see how this match goes, but the outcome will not surprise anyone. Hardy is going to be champion for the rest of the year and probably for at least half of 2013. At least in this loss, Aries will not have his shoulders pinned to the mat or have to submit. In a way, it will protect him.
Those are my predictions for TNA Turning Point. Feel free to share your own below.
Thanks for reading.
