Angle Developments/Notes:
1. Owen hammers away on Luger on the floor before the bell sounds but Luger quickly turns the tables and sends Owen into the ring post! Lex continues to pummel Owen in the corner with right hands. Luger backdrops Owen and leaps off the middle rope to hit a clothesline for a two count. Owen stops Lex with a spinning heel kick. Owen jumps on Luger’s back as he was draped across the middle rope for a two count. Luger blocks a kick but Hart uses his free leg to nail Lex on the side of the head for a near fall. Owen delivers a neck breaker as we go to commercial. Todd Pettengill was calling the double feature. Either he is trying to be funny, or he is dumb. Owen plants Luger with a nice DDT and heads to the top rope. Luger crotches Owen on the top with a right hand. Luger hits a superplex and both men are down! Luger goes for the cover but can’t get a three count. Luger drives Owen down with a running bulldog for a near fall. Luger drops Owen with a series of clotheslines. Lex hits the flying forearm but Owen gets his foot on the bottom rope. The referee didn’t see it. Apparently, the ruling isn’t going to chance. (**1/2. A fine match thanks to Owen bumping well for Luger. The finish protects Owen as well, so I can’t complain about it.)
Final Thoughts:
A fine show this week as there was only one featured bout. I don’t know why there aren’t any major interview segments anymore. A solid outing nonetheless.
