Matches:
1.) Nova defeated Mikey Whipwreck
2.) Angel defeated New Jack
3.) Spike Dudley defeated Erik Watts
Angle Developments/Notes:
1. Early on, Whipwreck attempts the Whippersnapper but Nova gets out and almost hits the nova cane. Mikey drops Nova with a clothesline and appears to be getting some boos. Whipwreck hits a side Russian leg sweep out of the corner for a near fall. Mikey tosses Nova off the apron and chest first onto the guard railing. Mikey flips over the top rope and hits Nova with a somersault dive. Nova is placed on the middle rope and Whipwreck hits a slingshot elbow drop from the apron for another two count. Nova plants Mikey with a power bomb, which turned into an elbow drop on the way down. An atomic drop and jaw breaker by Nova to maintain control of the bout. Whipwreck manages to hit a top rope bulldog! Of course, Nova is able to kick out at two. Nova hits the Spin Doctor but Whipwreck kicks out before three. Nova misses a Swanton Bomb but sits down on a sunset flip and pins Mikey. (**1/2. A fine match here that actually lacked any crowd heat. I was really surprised that the fans didn’t appreciate the action more and give the guys more of a reaction. A good win for Nova in his singles role.) After the match, Whipwreck thinks this a conspiracy because he is 24 years old and lives with his mother. He doesn’t want everyone to be laughing at him.
2. As usual, New Jack is attacked by all three members of Da Baldies. Jack fights back and proceeds to use a lot of weapons on Angel. Grimes tosses a shopping cart into the ring. Jack has a vacuum cleaner and low blows Angel with it. Jack is on the cart when Grimes leaps off the top but misses a swanton bomb. Jack leaps off the apron to nail Grimes with a chair. Jack and Grimes are brawling over by the Eagles Nest. Grimes leaps off the Nest and misses another swanton bomb. Jack elbow drops Grimes after leaping off the Eagles Nest and goes through a table. Angel hits Jack with a trash can and wins the match. (1/2*. These segments always go way too long. There was even a commercial break during the match. All things considered, that’s a weak finish.)
3. And you thought Erik Watts sucked. He was in WCW, WWF, TNA and ECW. Lou E. Dangerously continues to act like Paul Heyman and puts over Bill Watts. Lou says that Heyman is a worthless piece of trash. Heyman is getting pissed about the insults about not being half the man Bill was. Lou calls Paul a fat, bald, Jew! Heyman wants a piece of Lou but is being held back. Heyman insults Lou but most of stuff is bleeped. The bottom line is that Heyman never liked the Watts family.
4. Spike Dudley literally hits the Acid Drop and pins Erik Watts in record time. That’s all for Watts.
Final Thoughts:
Aside from the Nova/Whipwreck match there wasn’t anything redeeming on the program. This seemed more like a filler program than advancing any issues that have been promoted in recent weeks.
Thanks for reading.
