Matches:
1.) Danny Davis defeated Killer Kyle by disqualification
2.) Bart & Brad Batten defeated Dirty White Boy & Paul Orndorff by disqualification
3.) SMW Tag Team Champions The Heavenly Bodies defeated Gary Scott & Rick Cannon
4.) SMW Tag Team Champions The Heavenly Bodies defeated The Fantastics by disqualification
Angle Developments/Notes:
1.) Dutch Mantel says that the Fantastics should have been charged with criminal charges. He also lets us know that Dirty White Boy and Paul Orndorff will be the guests on Down & Dirty.
2.) Kyle showed his power advantage by shoving Davis down to the canvas a few times. Davis shows off his speed advantage by avoiding Kyle and kicking the left leg several times. Davis avoids a splash in the corner to hit a dropkick and a knee lift. Kyle drives Danny down to the mat with a side slam and followed up with a back breaker. Kyle sends Davis head first into the violin case in the corner and gets the three count. Wait, Dixie Dynamite enters and tells the referee what happened. The referee trusts Dixie and reverses the decision. Killer Kyle attacks Dynamite with the violin case. (*. Davis had some good energy and offense, but aside from that this was nothing of a match.)
3.) Bob Armstrong is with Bob Caudle and tells us that Killer Kyle has been fined $500. Bob announces SMW will debut in Knoxville, TN.
4.) Tim Horner chats with Bob Caudle to talk about being whipped by Buddy Landel last week. Horner says he is coming for Buddy at Summer Blast and is going to be all over him like a wet t-shirt.
5.) The Fantastics talk to Bob Caudle and we see footage of the wild brawl from a few weeks ago. They are looking forward to Summer Blast to get their hands on the champs next week with there being no rules. Jim Cornette is in the ring to give the Fantastics a chance to back out of the street fight. That doesn’t happen as the Heavenly Bodies come in from behind to attack the Fantastics. The beating isn’t getting much of a crowd reaction as this is the second beating of the taping. The Fantastics fight back to send the heels running from the ring.
6.) Down & Dirty this week with Dirty White Boy, Ron Wright and Paul Orndorff is next. Dutch shows a video of Ron Garvin cutting a promo about being George Forman, just not out of shape and eating a lot of hot dogs or hamburgers. Ron Wright is really nervous for what Garvin has done to guys like Andre The Giant and Bob Orton Jr. Dirty White Boy tells Wright that he has nothing to worry about. He thinks any punch of his will drop Ron Garvin.
7.) Dirty White Boy and Brad kick off the tag match with Brad taking White Boy over with a backdrop and a double dropkick is given to both Orndorff and DWB. The Batten Twins illegally switch out of the match when the referee was distracted by Orndorff entering the ring. Bart takes both men over with hip tosses and plays to the crowd. Bart hits a cross body on Orndorff for a near fall but Orndorff drives him face first into the canvas to get control. Bart comes off the ropes and is met with a double clothesline. DWB sends Bart to the floor and shoves Brad to allow Orndorff to hit a piledriver on the floor where there is no padding! That’s an illegal move in SMW and should be fined!
DWB works over Brad and tags in Orndorff to maintain control of the contest. Orndorff hits a snap suplex and tags in DWB. White Boy hits a snap power slam and delivers a leg drop. Orndorff mocks Brad by asking for the tag and the fans despise him for it. White Boy drops Brad across the top rope throat first. Orndorff comes off the top to hit an elbow strike but here comes Brian Lee to be the new partner for Brad Batten! Orndorff clotheslines Brad as the fans want Lee tagged into the match. Brad comes off the ropes and is met with a thrust kick from White Boy. White Boy misses a leaping head butt and Brian wants the tag but Orndorff prevents that from happening. Orndorff and Brad collide shoulders and there is an opening for the tag which Lee gets tagged in.
Lee hammers away on both Orndorff and White Boy with the fans heavily behind him. Lee runs over them with clotheslines and all four men are brawling until White Boy sends Brad over the top to cause the disqualification. (**. It was a fine match and the heel work by Orndorff and DWB was nicely done. Brad played the peril role very well and Lee executed his role nicely as well.) After the match, Lee is worked over by Orndorff and DWB. Danny Davis gets in the ring along with Robert Gibson to make the save.
8.) Bob Caudle chats with Robert Gibson about Jimmy Golden. Robert Gibson is going to beat Golden at Summer Blast.
9.) The main event isn’t a match as they mainly just brawl and the show runs out of time with the Fantastics standing tall.
Final Thoughts:
The final show before Summer Blast takes place and it mainly focused on the main event tag match and the tag titles. I don’t have a problem with that, really. The tag match got plenty of time this week and I enjoyed the overall segment.
Thanks for reading.
