ECW Hardcore TV 5/2/1995
Written by: Bob Colling
Extreme Championship Wrestling presents Hardcore TV
Date: 5/2/1995
From: Philadelphia, PA
Matches:
1.) ECW Television Champion Eddie Guerrero fought Dean Malenko to a thirty minute time limit draw to retain the title.
Angle Developments/Notes:
1.) The Guerrero/Malenko match is from Hostile City Showdown ’95, which has been reviewed by Matt Peddycord, so I won’t bother repeating his review of an awesome match. What else does Hardcore TV have to offer…
2.) Tommy Dreamer cuts a promo saying that people are saying he must get a victory over Raven. We see footage of Stevie Richards choking Beulah during Dreamer’s match with Raven. However, it was a setup to allow Beulah to spray something in his face and Raven hit a DDT on the floor after a super kick from Richards. Moments later, Dreamer hit a piledriver on Beulah. Dreamer admits he is distracted since there is a new ECW World Champion. Dreamer recalls taking ten kendo stick shots from Sandman. Dreamer is basically going over his history with Sandman which included Sandman pretending to be blind in order to attack Dreamer. Dreamer thinks that Sandman is a disgrace and wants a title shot. Dreamer says if he doesn’t beat Sandman than he will pray that someone else can beat Sandman because Sandman is a poor example of a champion for ECW.
3.) The remainder of the program was the Malenko/Guerrero match which as stated was not original content for the show and has been reviewed already.
Final Thoughts:
The Dreamer segment was the only original content for the program and I thought it was pretty good in an attempt to setup a feud with Sandman over the championship. Plus, you can’t ever go wrong with a Malenko/Guerrero match even if I didn’t review it.
Thanks for reading.
