4.) SMW Heavyweight Champion Dirty White Boy defeated Prince Kharis to retain the title
Angle Developments/Notes:
1.) Well Dunn are out to be interviewed and they are complaining. Actually, they aren’t scheduled and we see footage of Dutch Mantel in South America. Dutch can’t tell us where he is because people are looking for him. He has two guys next to him looking out for him, apparently. Dutch says he is okay and will be back shortly.
2.) Bob Armstrong is interviewed regarding the Volunteer Slam which will be held on May 20th in Knoxville. Armstrong says a major name is coming to the company to wrestle Dirty White Boy but isn’t going to reveal the name of the wrestler. Armstrong says that on May 20th, Randy Savage will be coming to SMW to wrestle Bruiser Bedlam. Jim Cornette and Bruiser Bedlam come out and they are pissed about Savage coming to the company. Cornette promises that Bedlam is going to rip Randy’s head off.
3.) Bedlam and Cornette cut a promo being sick and tired of interference. Tracy Smothers comes over and confronts Bedlam. Smothers says he is standing out here by himself. Smothers tells Bedlam this is the South and he represents it. He challenges Bedlam to a TV title match next week, which Cornette agrees to. Bedlam says he is going to bust Smothers in half next week. In a rather comical moment, Smothers has a hard time getting is shirt off as he tried to be intimidating towards Bedlam and Cornette.
4.) Personality Profile this week is with the SMW Tag Team Champions Rock N’ Roll Express. Morton says there isn’t anything he can do about Lee and Candido jumping on him but they can do something about getting them off. Morton says they are going to show Tammy what a real man is all about. They are going to defend the tag titles every night.
5.) Brian Lee, Chris Candido, and Tammy Fytch are interviewed after their victory. Candido says that he knew that Lee could handle the guys all by himself. Lee tells Candido to back away and says he will lead the way. They are confident that the tag titles will be theirs.
6.) White Boy hammers away on Kharis but can’t knock him down. White Boy comes off the ropes and is met with a clothesline allowing Kharis to get the advantage. Kharis chokes White Boy in the corner and tosses him across the ring. Kharis comes off the middle rope but misses a headbutt. White Boy climbs to the top and hits a cross body for a near fall. Kharis continues to work over White Boy with basic strikes and a scoop slam. White Boy avoids a falling head butt attempt. White Boy drops Kharis with a big boot but Kharis sits up rather quickly. Van Horn distracts White Boy on the apron and Kharis attempts to club White Boy but fails. White Boy hits Kharis with his own arm and gets the pin. (DUD. As I had expected, that sucked.) After the match, Kendo The Samurai comes down and attempts to attack White Boy but fails until he spits some mist into White Boy’s eyes. White Boy is attacked by Kharis, Samurai and Van Horn. Rock N’ Roll Express run into the ring to make the save for White Boy.
7.) Daryl Van Horn cut a promo saying that White Boy is blind and he taunted White Boy saying he can’t get rid of his army.
Final Thoughts:
Mostly dedicated to the top two feuds this week, but the White Boy/Kharis stuff is just not working for me. Savage coming in to fight Bedlam could be huge for Bedlam if he were to go over in that match. I’m interested to see Volunteer Slam.
Thanks for reading.
