World Wrestling Federation presents Superstars
Date:
9/6/1986
From: Providence, RI

Matches:
1.) Ricky Steamboat & Sivi Afi defeated Terry Gibbs & Roger Kirby
2.) Bret Hart & Jim Neidhart vs. Koko B. Ware & Paul Roma
3.) Hillbilly Jim & Cousin Luke defeated Pete Doherty & Ron Shaw
4.) Kamala defeated Tommy Sharpe
5.) Jacques & Raymond Rougeau defeated Bob Bradley & Mike Fever
6.) King Kong Bundy & Big John Studd defeated SD Jones & Cpl. Kirchner

Angle Developments/Notes:
1.) Jesse Ventura made his return to the WWF on the program as he’ll be the color commentator alongside Vince McMahon and Bruno Sammartino. He had last made an appearance at WrestleMania II.

2.) Gibbs and Kirby attacked before the bell for the opening bout, but their offense was short lived. Steamboat hit a back suplex on Kirby and that allowed Sivi to hit a top rope splash for the victory.

3.) Mean Gene had WWF Update segment where he told us that Superstar Billy Graham would be making his return to the WWF very soon. We get a video of Graham working out in the gym and a promo. He’s feeling bad, tough and mean. It appears he has his eyes on Big John Studd upon his return.

4.) This is the WWF TV debut for Koko B. Ware who got an entrance while his partner did not. He was also accompanied to the ring by a Federrete. The announcers are making sure to point out that the referee, Danny Davis, isn’t really enforcing any rules on the Hart Foundation. Koko had a pre-tape promo aired during the match. He’s says we better beware of Koko and his dropkick. Koko didn’t even compete in the match as Roma was pinned after the Hart Attack. After the match, Koko overcomes a double team attempt and dropkicks both Bret and Neidhart! The crowd liked that.

5.) Honkytonk Man cut a promo on Paul Orndorff, who has essentially dismissed him. Honky takes he will drag Orndorff around the ring and dance on his head.

6.) The Flower Shop with Adrian Adonis is next. His guest this week is Roddy Piper. Piper comes out with a metal object and pokes fun at Adonis for being overweight and having boobs. Adonis has Jimmy Hart and Bob Orton Jr. by his side, by the way. Piper denies coming out here to tell Adonis he needs a home pregnancy test. He has statistics for the WWF ratings to show Adonis. Apparently, 20 million people watch the program and says that the first 35 minutes of the show is watched the vast majority. However, around the time the Flower Shop comes on everyone goes to the toilet. Piper leaves them a note that says the Flower Shop won’t air next week and instead Piper’s Pit will return! Adonis flips out!

7.) Footage of a past Flower Shop is shown where Bobby Heenan wanted to study the Machines. Heenan is trying to find Andre the Giant. Heenan is getting tricked as when he turns his back Andre switches out with another masked guy.

8.) Next week, the Machines and the British Bulldogs will be in action. Plus, the return of Piper’s Pit and WWF Intercontinental Champion Randy Savage.

Final Thoughts:
For a debut episode, I thought it was okay as there was a few angles touched upon. The Flower Shop segment was entertaining and I think that it could be a good feud between Adonis and Piper developing.

Thanks for reading.
