Rebooking The WWF: Week 52, 1993

The final week in 1993 is upon us. Bret Hart and Ted DiBiase have a heated confrontation to end the year. Plus much, much more!

WWF RAW 12/27/1993 (Manhattan, NY)
1. Yokozuna defeated Virgil in 1:35 following the Bonsai Drop.
2. Ted DiBiase/Bret Hart Video: The video starts with Bret exiting his car and DiBiase’s home security guards approaching Hart telling him that he isn’t welcomed. The two security guards try to force Bret back into his car, but he fights them off ramming them head first into the car. Bret continues to walk towards the house until DiBiase arrives at the top of the steps on the porch. DiBiase welcomes Bret to his home, the Million Dollar Mansion. Bret doesn’t care what DiBiase has to say, he wants to see his family. DiBiase tells Hart that he can’t allow that, simply because he doesn’t want to. DiBiase snaps his fingers and several officers come with clubs and handcuffs. Hart tells DiBiase that he isn’t going to go anywhere. DiBiase says that he will press charges for trespassing, sending Hart to jail and he will kick his family out of the house! “Bret, do you really want to be in jail while your family is left on the cold, dark streets?” Hart is clearly furious and begins to back away. DiBiase walks down the steps with security and walks towards Hart. DiBiase offers Hart a proposal. “Bret, I know I have gotten your attention. I own your childhood home. I have a proposal for you, I know you will not decline it.” DiBiase continues “Hitman, I have all the money in the world. I can do whatever I want, as you can see.” Hart wants to know what he his proposal is. DiBiase tells Hart “I know you want your home back. I know you want your family back. If you beat Shawn Michaels at the Royal Rumble, you can wrestle me at WrestleMania X. But it will not be just any kind of match. If you can beat him, you can get your home back. I’ll release the home in your name. But, if you lose, I want you gone from the WWF. But, this all only matters if you can actually beat Shawn Michaels, and I don’t think you can!” Bret responds saying “Your on, DiBiase. I’m going to beat Michaels and at WrestleMania X, we will meet, and I will get my family and my life back!” Hart is backed away from the house by security as DiBiase bursts out in laughter!
3. WWF World Tag Team Champions Steiner Brothers defeated Mark Starr/Chris Kanyon in 3:56 when Scott pinned Starr following the Frankensteiner.
4. Jim Cornette Interview: Jim Ross conducted an interview with Jim Cornette who appears to be in a good mood. Cornette talks about having the greatest stable ever to be put together. Yokozuna, Ludvig Borga, Crush and the soon to be WWF World Tag Team Champions, the Heavenly Bodies! Cornette believes that 1994 will be the year of Camp Cornette. “It all starts at the Royal Rumble, Ross. The Heavenly Bodies will win the tag team titles from the Michigan Morons, and then one of my big, powerful men will win the thirty man battle royal to main event WrestleMania X and win the WWF World Championship!” Cornette finishes off the interview saying that it is only a matter of time until his guys bring home some gold.
5. Bam-Bam Bigelow defeated Koko B. Ware in 1:57 following a top rope diving head butt.
6. Royal Rumble Report: Todd Pettengill promotes the Royal Rumble which takes place on January 23rd, 1994. He runs down the card, which includes WWF Intercontinental Champion Rick Martel defending against Razor Ramon. WWF World Tag Team Champions Steiner Brothers taking on the Heavenly Bodies. Bret Hart meets Shawn Michaels one on one. WWF World Champion Lex Luger squares off against Mr. Perfect in a no disqualification match with the championship on the line. Also, the thirty man battle royal to determine the number one contender for the WWF World Championship takes place. Thus far, the following men have been announced to take compete in the match. IRS, Chris Benoit, Jim Neidhart, Yokozuna, the Undertaker, Owen Hart, Mabel, Mo, Diesel, Jeff Jarrett, Ludvig Borga, Billy Gunn, Bart Gunn, Doink the Clown, and Randy Savage.
7. Tatanka defeated Jerry Lawler in 10:32 following a Samoan Drop. After the match, Lawler bails to the floor while Tatanka celebrates the win as the announcers give Tatanka props for never giving up and getting revenge for Chief Jay Strongbow!

Next week on RAW: WWF Intercontinental Champion Rick Martel will be in action in a non-title match against Macho Man Randy Savage!

WWF Superstars 1/1/1994
1. WWF Intercontinental Champion Rick Martel defeated Paul Purple in 2:43 with the Boston Crab. During the bout, Razor Ramon shared some pre-tape comments saying that at the Royal Rumble, the Bad Guy is focused to getting the WWF Intercontinental Championship back and is going to make Rick Martel’s “model looks” nothing but a distant memory.
2. Jack Tunney Interview: Vince McMahon conducted an interview with WWF President, Jack Tunney. McMahon’s topic to talk about is the Undertaker/Bam-Bam Bigelow issues that need to come to an end, but as Tunney has said the WWF officials have deemed their matches too violent to be on television. He wants to know the solution to that issue. Tunney tells McMahon that have found a solution to this conflict. He mentions how on January 17th, 1994 the WWF returns to Madison Square Garden. Tunney says that he has signed a Bam-Bam Bigelow vs. the Undertaker match to take place on the show. He notes that it will NOT air on the MSG Network due to how violent it is surely going to be. However, with cameras being present, the match will be taped and can be viewed via a Coliseum Video release were, if needed, editing could take place to prevent any disturbing photos. The WWF fans do not like the announcement but Tunney says “it’s better than not seeing it at all.”
3. The Undertaker defeated Steve Everson in 2:15 following a tombstone pile driver.

5. Crush defeated John Paul in 2:31 with the Kona Vice.
6. Steiner Brothers Interview: Jim Ross conducted an interview with the WWF World Tag Team Champions, Steiner Brothers regarding the Heavenly Bodies. Scott Steiner tells Ross that he isn’t impressed with the Heavenly Bodies sparkly robes, and he isn’t impressed that they have won tag team titles all over the country. The only thing that would impress him is if they found a some possible way to beat the best WWF tag team going today! Rick finishes off the promo telling Ross that at the Heavenly Bodies will be laid out on their backs looking up and seeing sparkles! Ross is left dumbfounded by the champions statements.
7. Chris Benoit defeated Ludvig Borga by DQ in 8:41 when Cornette pulled the referee out while Benoit had the Crossface on Borga. After the match, Benoit left the ring to go after Cornette but Cornette ran away around the ringside area. Benoit chased after him but was stopped with a vicious clothesline by Borga. Borga rammed Benoit shoulder first into the ring post and attempted a shoulder breaker, but Owen Hart ran down and fought Borga to save Benoit. Eventually, Borga and Cornette left while Owen checked on Benoit.

Next week on Superstars: Bret Hart will be in action as he takes on Shawn Michaels bodyguard, Diesel!

WWF Wrestling Challenge 1/2/1994
1. The Heavenly Bodies defeated Hank Griffin/Carl Edwards in 2:58 when Del Ray pinned Edwards following a top rope moonsault.
2. Ron Simmons Interview: Jim Ross conducted an interview with Ron Simmons regarding the challenge issued by Jim Cornette and Crush for a singles match at the Royal Rumble. Ross asks if Simmons will accept the challenge. Simmons quickly tells Ross that he accepts the challenge to face Crush at the Royal Rumble stating at the Royal Rumble “the turncoat Crush will be crushed!” Simmons leaves the podium as the fans chant for Simmons and start a USA chant.
3. Randy Savage defeated Blake Beverly in 5:08 following a top rope elbow drop. During the bout, WWF Intercontinental Champion Rick Martel called in to promote their match on RAW tomorrow night. Martel tells everyone that he is going to be regarded as the greatest, best looking WWF Intercontinental Champion ever and he will start that quest by beating Randy Savage tomorrow night on RAW!
4. Owen Hart defeated Tony DeVito in 2:44 following a missile dropkick.

6. The Quebecers defeated Marty Jannetty/the Kamikaze Kid in 9:25 when Jacques pinned Jannetty when Polo grabbed Jannetty’s foot on a vertical suplex attempt from the apron back into the ring and held him down for the three count as Jacques laid on top.

Next week on Wrestling Challenge: It will be country vs. rap. Jeff Jarrett squares off against the man he attacked a few weeks ago, Mo in singles action. Also, WWF World Champion Lex Luger will be in action!
