Angle Developments/Notes:
1.) Footage from Main Event last week where Kevin Sullivan was beating up Dave Sullivan and Hogan was attacked by the masked man. Brother Brutus eventually ran out and made the save but Hogan appeared to re-injure his knee.
2.) Pretty Wonderful had some pre-tape comments before their contest got going. Roma said that they don’t need Stars and Stripes to tell them they are great athletes. They know they are great and they will prove it at Havoc. Orndorff says they are going for the kill and the belts at Halloween Havoc.
3.) Steve Austin is interviewed following his victory. He’ll be wrestling Jim Duggan next Sunday at Halloween Havoc for the WCW United States Championship. Austin considers losing to Duggan to be the biggest embarrassment of his career. If Duggan was in front of him he would punch him right in the face. Austin says nobody embarrasses him and gets away with it. He says that it took three men to beat him for the WCW United States Championship. Austin knows it was a setup the entire way before Fall Brawl. Austin says every time the fans chant “USA” he is going to punch Duggan right in the face.
4.) We get a brief video of three kids saying, “If Hulk Hogan retires at Halloween Havoc, we’re going to be really, really sad.”
5.) Guardian Angel is interviewed following his victory. He’ll be wrestling Vader next Sunday against Vader at Halloween Havoc. Angel recalls when he had Vader beat in the ring a couple of weeks ago but Harley Race cost him the victory. Angel is putting the board of directors on notice that he will do whatever he has to do in order to beat Vader and Race at the pay per view. He is not going to be an Angel at Halloween Havoc.
6.) More footage from Main Event last Sunday where Hulk Hogan teamed with Dave Sullivan. However, before the match there was a segment where they were interviewed. They got Dave a surprise for all is support. Dave opens the box and it’s a Hulk Hogan robe. Kevin Sullivan comes out to confront Dave for this. Kevin wants to know what Dave is doing and that Dave should never team with Hogan. Hogan gets involved and tells Kevin that Dave can stand on his own two feet. Hogan whispers something into Dave’s ear. Dave says that Hulk told him that Dave has something for Kevin. Dave proceeds to deck Kevin with a right hand and Kevin leaves the area. Footage of the tag team match is aired where Hogan put the figure four on Flair for a moment. The masked man got tagged in and decks Hogan a few times. Hogan slams the masked man and tries to get the mask off but the man prevents it from happening. Dave comes off the ropes and decks the masked man. Sherri trips Dave from the floor and that causes Hogan to go towards Sherri but the referee prevents that on the floor. Dave gets his knee stomped on and double teamed. Dave stops Flair on the top with a slam and Hogan wants the tag. Hogan gets the hot tag and cleans house on the heels. Hogan big boots the masked man and delivered a leg drop but didn’t go for the quick cover. Hogan wants to take off the mask but another masked man comes in and chop blocks Hogan causing a disqualification. After the match, Flair continued to attack the injured left knee. As seen earlier in the show, Kevin Sullivan came out and attacked Dave, as well.
7.) Kevin Sullivan shared some comments before Dave Sullivan’s match on the show. Kevin says that a lesson on life is coming to Dave at Havoc. Hogan will be gone and Dave is going to have to face Kevin. Dave followed the wrong course but a brothers wrath does last forever unlike Hulkamania.
8.) A video highlighting the career of Ric Flair is aired.
9.) Vader uses his power advantage to shove Sting into the ropes and taunts the fans. Vader works over Sting with a series of body shots in the corner. Vader slaps Sting and Sting comes back with a double leg take down and stomps on the canvas. Sting hits a splash in the corner followed a clothesline to knock Vader off his feet. Sting hammers away on Vader in the corner several times to once again drop Vader to the mat. Sting ducks a few clotheslines but Vader connects with a body attack. Vader takes the time to taunt the fans for a few moments before continuing his offense. Vader slams Sting and goes to the middle rope but Sting gets up and kicks Vader several times. Sting plants Vader with an electric chair slam! Sting heads to the top rope and hits a big splash but Vader manages to kick out at two! Sting clotheslines Vader over the top tot eh floor where Vader collapses to the floor. Sting follows to the floor and hammers away on Vader some more. Sting delivers an elbow drop back in the ring as Vader rolled in. Sting takes Vader off the middle rope with a DDT for a two count! Sting comes off the ropes looking for a big splash but Vader gets his knees up to block it. Vader drops his elbow into the groin area of Sting. Vader comes off the middle rope with a big splash and Sting is in trouble.
Vader hits a second splash off the middle rope but Sting powers out at two on the cover attempt. Sting catches Vader coming off the middle rope and hit a power slam in midair! Vader batters Sting with more body shots in the corner and Sting drops to the canvas after staggering around the ring. Vader drops Sting with a short arm clothesline. Vader comes off the ropes and delivers a big splash but Sting refuses to stay down on the cover. Vader knocks Sting into the corner and delivers a few more shots to control Sting. Sting seems to get a second wind and isn’t hurt by the shots this time. Sting nails Vader with several strikes and a standing dropkick for a two count. Sting hits a German suplex for a two count! Sting comes off the ropes shoulder blocking Vader a few times. Race pulls Sting down by the foot and the referee calls for the disqualification. Vader elbow drops Sting to keep Sting on the canvas. (**3/4. The finish was a lame way to get out of either guy taking a pin. I’m pretty sure Race missed tripping Sting on two occasions before actually managing to trip him. These two work very well together and it’s enjoyable, but that was just an awful finish.) After the match, Guardian Angel comes out and attacks Harley Race on the floor before punching Vader in the ring. Angel handcuffs Race to the bottom turnbuckle. Angle has the steel chair but is stopped by security. They actually cut away until security got in front of him.
10.) Vader says there isn’t a man who can take him on one on one. He had Sting beat but it took Guardian Angel to come in and hit him from behind. Vader says he is the most powerful wrestler in the world today. Race says that Angel signed the warrant that will take him out of WCW forever.
Final Thoughts:
Mostly dedicated to promoting the Angel/Vader and Hogan/Flair matches for the pay per view. It was a decent programming again, but nothing new really occurred.
Thanks for reading.
