World Championship Wrestling presents Main Event
Date: 2/13/1994
From: Columbus, GA

Matches:
1.) The Boss defeated Fred Avery
2.) WCW Television Champion Lord Steven Regal defeated Brian Armstrong
3.) Arn Anderson defeated Paul Roma

Angle Developments/Notes:
1.) Tony Schiavone interviews The Boss following his victory. Boss will be the special referee for Flair vs. Vader in a cage at Superbrawl. Boss remembers getting a phone call from WCW saying they needed his help. Boss knows he’s the man that can call the match right down the middle and maintain order. Boss knows about what Vader has done recently in WCW and he’s keeping an eye on him.

2.) Tony Schiavone interviews Diamond Dallas Page. Page says he’s going fishing because he needs to relax. Page has a match with Terry Taylor at Superbrawl and he’s mad because he didn’t pick Taylor’s match out of the fish bowl. Page considers Taylor to be chump change. That brings out Taylor to confront Page. Taylor reminds Page that he won the TV and National Championships. Page doesn’t care and calls Taylor a has been. Page shoves Diamond Doll into Taylor and hits Taylor with a fish bowl. Page whips Taylor with the fishing pole. Arn Anderson comes out to check on Taylor.

3.) Larry Zbyszko interviews the WCW Television Champion Lord Steven Regal after his victory. Regal will be wrestling Arn Anderson at Superbrawl. Regal doesn’t know who he just beat, and nor does Zbyszko as he incorrectly stated it was Scott Armstrong. Regal says Zbyszko was a legend a long time ago. Regal insults the entire Armstrong family and believes he’ll beat them all.

4.) This is the first encounter between Anderson and Roma since Roma split from the Horsemen.

5.) Roma controls Anderson with a headlock and hip tosses Anderson out of the corner. Roma takes some time to taunt the fans. Anderson mock claps for Roma as we go to commercial. Roma begs off from Anderson and Anderson works over Roma with strikes. Roma bails to the floor to regroup. Roma returns and beats on Anderson with strikes. Anderson gets control of Roma’s arm to get the advantage. Anderson continues to work over Roma’s arm. Anderson drops Roma with a hammerlock scoop slam. Roma elbows Anderson to the floor. Anderson is met with a knee on the apron. Anderson rams Roma into the top turnbuckle and is crotched by Roma on the top rope. Roma hooks Anderson looking for a suplex, but Anderson holds onto the ropes. Anderson leaps off the middle rope and is met with a clothesline in midair. Roma grabs Anderson to deliver three backbreakers. Roma comes off the ropes to deliver an elbow drop for a two count. Anderson works over Roma with strikes and rubs his eyes over the ropes. Roma trips Anderson and uses the ropes for leverage, but the referee saw that. Anderson gets a rollup and pins Roma. (*1/2. Well, they didn’t do a whole lot here action wise and the finish was rather bland and weak. For this being the first match between former partners, it didn’t have intensity and wasn’t very good, honestly.)

6.) Tony Schiavone interviews Arn Anderson to finish the show. Anderson will be wrestling Lord Steven Regal at Superbrawl. Anderson thinks that Roma made the wrong decision when it came to leaving the Horsemen. Anderson puts over the Armstrong family and says he’s going to show Regal who he is at Superbrawl. Anderson is going to beat on Regal and take the title as icing on the cake.

Final Thoughts:
The promo work this week was actually the highlight as the wrestling this week was rather lackluster and disappointing.
