Extreme Championship Wrestling presents Hardcore TV
Date: 10/4/1997
From: Philadelphia, PA
Matches:
1.) ECW World Champion Shane Douglas defeated Phil LaFon to retain the title
2.) ECW Television Champion Taz defeated Pitbull #2
3.) Sabu wrestled The Sandman to a no contest
Angle Developments/Notes:
1.) The matches this week were from the event As Good As It Gets.
2.) Next week, Jerry Lynn and Justin Credible will make their ECW Arena debuts. It will also by Justin Credible’s ECW debut on TV. A mixed tag match that saw Beulah tag with Tommy Dreamer to take on Rob Van Dam and Bill Alfonso.
3.) Pitbull #1 cuts a promo about breaking his neck for the fans and didn’t get anything from anyone. He got three letters which were from his mom, Lance Wright and Lance’s mother. He claims they were hanging by the pool with Vince McMahon last week. McMahon said they will treat them right and pay them big money. The fans sure aren’t acting like they’d miss them. He called out Taz to wrestle his buddy and that was answered quickly.
4.) Taz ended up getting arrested. Sabu got a few cheap shots in and led to another brawl between them.
5.) Sabu tossed a fireball into Sandman’s face to put an end to their match.
Final Thoughts:
Highlight shows aren’t ideal as I prefer original content and it looks like these come to an end in a few weeks. Regardless, this was a solid episode.
Thanks for reading.
