Extreme Championship Wrestling presents Hardcore TV

Matches:
1.) ECW World Champion Mike Awesome defeated Rhino to retain the title
Angle Developments/Notes:
1.) Joey Styles talks about the war that has started between Dawn Marie and Tammy Sytch. Marie isn’t going to give up her spot for Tammy.
2.) Awesome clotheslines Rhino after shoving him and continues with right hands in the corner. Awesome hits a springboard back elbow off the ropes and clotheslines Rhino over the top to the floor. Awesome waits in the ring and dives onto Rhino. Awesome sends Rhino into the guard railing back first a few times. Awesome sets a table up on the floor. Awesome heads to the top rope hitting a flying clothesline on Rhino for a two count. Rhino backdrops Awesome followed by a spinebuster for a near fall. Rhino continues with right hands in the corner and a shoulder ram. Rhino leaps off the top to hit a diving headbutt to the lower back of Awesome for a two count. Rhino runs into a boot and Awesome drops Rhino on his head with a German suplex. Awesome signals for the Awesome Bomb. Rhino breaks free, but Awesome sets Rhino up for the powerbomb and tosses Rhino over the top through the table on the floor. Awesome rolls Rhino into the ring and heads to the top rope as Rhino is not moving after that. Awesome hits a frog splash and wins the match cleanly in the middle. (*1/2. I hate the booking of Rhino in recent weeks to completely cutoff his momentum. However, Mike Awesome is a ton of fun to watch and I’ll take all the Awesome I can get.)
3.) They air a nice tribute to Droz, who recently suffered an injury and is paralyzed.
4.) The remainder of the show is highlights and they show the full RVD vs. Balls Mahoney main event from Anarchy Rulz.
Final Thoughts:
There’s nothing really here to enjoy as the only original programming is the Awesome/Rhino match. It was a fun showcase for Awesome, but frustrating developments for Rhino. So, I’d say it was a skippable week of TV.
Thanks for reading.
