Chuck waits in the corner, but D-Von blocks a superkick and plants Chuck with a DDT for a two count. Chuck nails D-Von with a superkick and gets the clean win. (*1/4. That was mostly a lifeless match and shows that neither man has much of a direction. Also, I’m not sure if I’ve just not been paying attention, but D-Von was wearing his 3D boots. I’m wondering if that has always been the case.)
2.) Chavo easily wins his squash match following a brainbuster.
3.) Albert cuts a promo before his match saying that he sees all the stares from the fans. Albert knows that the fans think he is wicked sexy. Albert asks if they have ever seen someone as sexy as him before. Albert thinks the fans are jealous of him. Albert says that all of him is natural. Albert knows the guys in the crowd aren’t getting the job done. Albert invites any woman to enter the ring and rub his “man fur.”
4.) Albert wins his squash match with the Baldo Bomb. This was the most dominant performance by Albert on Velocity.
5.) Noble forearms Kidman a few times, but Kidman head scissors Noble to the mat. Noble is met with a double hip toss and dropkick to the floor. Crash is met with a double dropkick and also rolls to the floor. Kidman and Funaki deliver baseball slides to the floor. Funaki and Noble return to the ring with Noble controlling the match with stomps in the corner. Noble dumps Funaki to the apron and kicks Crash. Nidia yanks Funaki off the apron and is double teamed by Crash and Nidia. Noble gets a two count in the ring and tags in Crash. Crash comes off the top with a strike and a delayed vertical suplex on Funaki for a two count. Crash clubs Funaki over the back, but Funaki fights out of the corner. Crash drop toe holds Funaki and tags in Noble to deliver an elbow drop. Noble chokes Funaki over the middle rope. Noble elbow strikes Funaki on the mat before locking in a chin lock. Funaki breaks free and gets a backslide for a two count. Noble cuts Funaki off with a clothesline for a two count. Crash boots Funaki in the corner and returns to the match working over Funaki with a seated dropkick for a two count. Noble tags back in and kicks Funaki in the ribs. Noble rams Funaki into the corner face first. Funaki fights back with strikes, but a knee lift stops him. Noble misses a splash and Funaki bulldogs Noble. Kidman and Crash get tagged into the match with Kidman nailing Crash with an elbow, clothesline and dropkicks. Kidman hits a neckbreaker/DDT combo leading to a near fall on Crash. Kidman tries for a back suplex, but Crash counters with a bulldog out of the corner for a near fall. Funaki sends Noble to the floor. Nidia accidentally hits a crossbody on Crash. Kidman plants Crash with a sit out powerbomb for a near fall. Kidman kicks Crash on the side of the head while Funaki knocked Noble down. Kidman hits the Shooting Star Press for the win. (**. Towards the end there was some decent pace and energy to the match. This felt like a standard tag match that I’ve seen all four guys compete in previously.)
Final Thoughts:
Kind of another boring episode of Velocity. I think I’ve been seeing the same guys in the same matches for too many weeks that it’s making the show feel a little dull and repetitive.
Thanks for reading.
