Matches:
1.) Rikishi defeated Matt Hardy by disqualification

Angle Developments/Notes:
1.) It’s the same night as No Way Out, so the show will be heavy on promos and whatnot as usually is the case on PPV nights.

2.) Backstage, Kevin Kelly interviews Edge and Christian. They are in a three way tables match with the Dudley’s and the team of Undertaker & Kane. Edge says that every time people doubted them they have won. Christian reminds Kelly they are five time tag team champions. Christian asks what do zombies like to eat and Kelly says brains. Christian insults his opponents by saying they don’t have brains for the zombies to eat. Christian believes their brains will lead them to victory tonight.

3.) Backstage, the Hardy Boys and Lita arrive to the arena. Matt will be in action against Rikishi tonight on Heat.

4.) Backstage, Lilian Garcia interviews Big Show. Garcia asks if anyone will get involved in the WWF Hardcore Championship match tonight. Show says that nobody will stop him tonight from putting the championship around his waist. He’s going to destroy everything in his path like a train. He’s going to be the worlds largest hardcore champion of all time.

5.) Backstage, Triple H and Stephanie McMahon have arrived to the arena.

6.) The RTC come out to stop the XFL cheerleaders from dancing on the stage. Val Venis says they are not going to allow the XFL to showcase their smut on WWF television. Venis knows they represent the low life people in Vegas. Goodfather say that the women are an addiction and they say no more to them. Bull Buchanan chimes in and says they are closer to losing their innonence when allowing those kind of women into their lives. Ivory says they are the cure and not the problem. Ivory says the WWF doesn’t want Steven Richards to win so that The Kat can strip her clothing off for the fans. Ivory promises to stop that injustice from happening tonight. Richards talks about how sexuality is a selling point of the fans and says they haven’t turned their back on morality. Richards is going to make sure that Jerry Lawler regrets coming to Kat’s aide. Richards promises that Lawler will fall and it will be for their own good.

7.) Backstage, Jerry Lawler and a topless Kat (covered by TV) were watching that promo and Kat is disgusted by the RTC. Kat thanks Lawler for doing this for her. Lawler says he’s doing this for himself and the world. Lawler asks if Kat is ready to bare it all. Kat looks ready and Lawler is ready, too.

8.) Backstage, Trish and William Regal have arrived at the arena. Coach is there to interview them. Trish says that Stephanie is full of crap and she’s going to show Stephanie who daddy’s little girl truly is.

9.) Hardy attacks Rikishi on the floor as Rikishi stalked towards Lita. Hardy rams Rikishi face first into the ring steps. Rikishi fights back with strikes in the ring to gain control of the contest. Hardy ducks a clothesline and tries for a sunset flip, but avoids a sit down splash. Hardy clotheslines a seated Rikishi. Hardy is shoved away out of the corner, but continues to hammer away on Rikishi. Hardy kicks Rikishi followed by a DDT. Hardy takes his shirt off and plays to the crowd. Hardy looks for the Twist of Fate, but Rikishi drives Hardy into the corner a few times. Rikishi plants Hardy with a Samoan Drop. Rikishi stomps on Hardy in the corner to keep the advantage. Hardy fights back with several strikes, but Rikishi stops Hardy with a clothesline. Rikishi chokes Hardy over the middle rope and continues with strikes. Rikishi drops Hardy with another strike to the throat. Rikishi sends Hardy into the corner and hits a running back splash. Hardy drops down in the corner and Rikishi looks to go for the Stink Face. Lita slides into the ring and low blows Rikishi from behind. That causes a disqualification. After the match, Jeff Hardy runs into the ring and dropkicks Rikishi. Jeff hits the Whisper in the Wind and Rikishi is triple teamed on the mat. Haku runs into the ring to make the save and run the Hardy’s and Lita out of the ring. (*1/4. There’s nothing much going on here as it was a basic match that lack much excitement. Hardy’s always manage to warm up the crowd and I can understand the placement on Heat to be that warmup for the PPV show. Remember when Rikishi was a main event heel for like three months and now he’s thrown down into the low midcard? What a horrible heel turn for Rikishi.)

10.) Backstage, Michael Cole interviews Vince McMahon. McMahon asks if Cole has seen the weather in Las Vegas and is shocked it’s cold and rainy tonight. Vince thinks that Austin feels as if he has the advantage in the best of three match with Triple H. Vince is confident that Kurt Angle will remain the WWF World Champion tonight by defeating the Rock in the main event. Vince walks off before talking about Trish and Stephanie to end the show.

Final Thoughts:
The feature match wasn’t all that good, but the promos that were used did a fine job to promote the PPV matches. No Way Out is a good card with the angles being red-hot. Austin/HHH is the main draw and should be a hell of a match.
