Angle Developments/Notes:
1.) Joey Styles talks about the demise of the Network that recently happened on TNN. Steve Corino has broken away and appears to be a challenger to ECW World Champion Justin Credible. In any event, Styles is happy about the Network crumbling right in front of our eyes.

2.) Willy is behind the FBI and hits a double clothesline. Mamaluke kicks Willy and slides through his legs to get a sunset flip for a two count. There’s actually a Steve Corino promo during this time and says that the last two PPV matches have gotten him nothing. Willy press slams Mamaluke down to the mat gut first and backdrops Guido. Sandman is tagged in and uses a kendo stick on the FBI. Sandman takes Guido down with a side Russian leg sweep and Willy hits a sit out slam on Mamaluke to win the match. (*1/2. I’m a bit surprised that the FBI would be jobbed out since they are in the tag team title tournament. I wouldn’t expect Sandman to lose, but maybe they actually have plans for Willy of substance? I would have tried to avoid FBI taking a loss here.)

3.) Backstage, Sinister Minister, Tajiri and Mikey Whipwreck cut a promo. Minister says that New York use to have gambling, hookers and other perversions. Well, then Rudy Guilani ruined the fun. Minister suggests that Rudy’s wife uses a vibrator. Minister thinks he can bring New York back to their glory. Minister is confident that his men will become the new tag champions. Minister proceeds to tell a joke about Italian priests. Tajiri responds to it and they all begin to laugh hysterically.

Whipwreck goes to the top rope, but is caught in midair and GORED through a table in the corner for the win. (*1/2. Really not that bad of a segment and the finish was effective. I wouldn’t mind something between Whipwreck and Credible on TV in the future, too.)

RVD leaps off the top and kicks a chair into Mahoney’s face. Mahoney is sitting in the corner. RVD goes to the top and hits the Van Terminator! RVD covers and pins Mahoney for the win. (***. A decent brawl and they had enough impactful offense to keep me interested. RVD doesn’t really have a lot of opponents that leaves there any reasonable doubt for him to lose. So, while the matches tend to be enjoyable, the matches kind of suffer because he’s so far ahead of everyone else in the company.)

9.) Backstage, ECW World Champion Justin Credible and Francine cut a promo about Steve Corino paying, but ECW Television Champion Rhino cuts a promo about Kid Kash being a butt buddy to Rob Van Dam. Francine says that New York will see how good they are in two weeks and they will have all the gold. Francine loves gold and it turns her on. Rhino chimes in about beating up Chilly Willy and Sandman and not needing to wait for second round. Credible wants to dash all the hopes and dreams of all the tag teams. Credible looks forward to night two defending against Steve Corino and hopes he’s ready to bleed and sweat. Credible hopes Corino is ready for the ass kicking of a lifetime. Credible brings up Steve’s son Colby and having him beg Steve to not get in the ring with Credible. Credible is willing to piss on him and his family. Francine wants all the gold.

Final Thoughts:
I thought it was a good show and they’ve been doing a good job promoting the Hammerstein shows in a few weeks. Credible delivered a good promo that didn’t rely on only his catchphrase and made it personal towards Corino. There was some quality action on the show, as well.
