Steve ‘Chance’ Martin welcomes everyone to the show and promotes the Y2-Kaos show that took place on January 8th. Steve provides still photos of the event. Jerry Lynn and Kid Kash of ECW competed on the show. Stone Mountain appears to have returned to the promotion.

It appears this episode is a reflection on what happened in 1999.

Opening Contest: Rick Michaels vs. Matt Hardy: They lockup and struggle to gain control. The referee breaks them apart in the corner. Hardy shoulder blocks Michaels, but Michaels comes back with a few arm drags and a dropkick. Hardy hip tosses Michaels followed by an arm drag and dropkick. Hardy elbows Michaels for a near fall. Hardy fights back with a swinging neckbreaker and a standing fist drop leading to a near fall. Hardy clotheslines Michaels in the corner and delivers a spinning elbow strike. Hardy hits a middle rope elbow drop for a two count. Michaels elbows Hardy in the corner, but runs into a drop toe hold. Hardy plants Michaels with a back suplex for a two count. Michaels punches Hardy several times to gain the advantage. Michaels drops Hardy with a strike. Michaels tries for a back suplex, but Hardy lands on his feet. Hardy is acting as if he’s hurt his left knee. Michaels kicks Hardy on the injured knee. Michaels continues with a knee breaker. Michaels delivers a knee drop to the injured knee. Michaels drags Hardy to the apron and slams Hardy’s knee over the apron. They traded blows in the middle of the ring, but Michaels gains the advantage. Michaels puts a figure four on Hardy and uses the ropes for leverage.

The referee sees Michaels cheating and forces a rope break. Michaels hits a front suplex, but Hardy kicks out at two. Hardy avoids a splash and gets a rollup for a two count. Michaels recovers to kick Hardy on the injured knee. Michaels forearm drops Hardy for another near fall. Michaels drives Hardy down to the mat with a side slam for another two count. Michaels decks Hardy with a clothesline and covers Hardy for a two count. Michaels puts a half Boston Crab on Hardy and uses the ropes for leverage again. Michaels slams Hardy and runs the ropes to deliver a forearm drop. Michaels covers again, but Hardy kicks out. Hardy dumps Michaels over the top to the floor. Hardy nails Michaels with a discus punch. Michaels plants Hardy with a Death Valley Driver for a two count. Hardy plants Michaels with a DDT and heads to the top rope. Hardy leaps off more than halfway across the ring to hit a leg drop, but Michaels gets his boot on the bottom rope. They struggle on a backslide, but the time limit has expired and thus it ends in a draw. After the match, they collide on stereo clotheslines. Ruckus comes into the ring and attacks Hardy. (***. A good match with a lame draw ending. I don’t really care for recaps of the previous year when we’re four weeks into the new year. So, I may be brief with the remainder of the show. I had wanted to see Hardy wrestling in Wildside thus I checked this out.)

Backstage, Matt Hardy cut a promo about his friendship with Jason Arndt, who is known as Joey Abs. Hardy talks about backyard wrestling and how they loved wrestling more than life. Hardy notes that people grow apart and friends become enemies. Hardy recalls working for NCW in the early days and how much talent there was in the locker room. Hardy believes that Jason was jealous of his success starting full time with the WWF in September 1998. It’s April 1999 when Hardy cut this promo because Jason signed a contract and is training at the Dojo. Hardy says their issues must be settled in an NCW ring. Hardy promises it will be armageddon when they meet in the ring. Neither one of them will be the same.

Second Contest: Rusty Riddle vs. Venom: I don’t think anyone would have thought that Venom would also by Joey Abs. The presentation is drastically different. It’s as if WWF purposely covered up Venom’s body to limit his appearance. Venom ends up losing due to a miscommunication with his agent, Jeff G. Bailey. Riddle hits Venom with a cellphone and gets the pin.

Main Event: Ruckus vs. White Trash vs. Damien Steele vs. Brian Wayne vs. New Jack: There’s less than ten minutes left on the show. Ruckus is triple teamed in the corner, but eventually New Jack comes out to make the save and join the match. As you’d expect, the match is a lot of weapon shots and is the typical New Jack showcase. Jack lights a table on fire with thumbtacks on it. The TV program censors the usage of the flaming table. Ruckus ends up getting the pin for the win.

Backstage, Ruckus and New Jack cut a promo. Ruckus says he talked about this for four months and it finally happened. Jack had a trial pending and couldn’t be competing. Jack couldn’t wait to get loose after his trial. Jack had to put Ruckus on hold, but he showed up to have Ruckus back. Jack suggests if you don’t like blood or violence, then don’t come to the arena that he’s competing at. Jack calls them the original gangsters.

Final Thoughts:
I’m figuring this is just a filler week for whatever reason. It looks like starting next week there will be footage from Y2-Kaos shown. So, I’m looking forward to seeing what exactly happened at the event.
