From: Detroit, MI

A video package promoting JCW Devil’s Night taking place on October 30th is shown. The show will be on PPV. Matt Riddle is promoted for the event along with the regular acts.

Earlier today, the new JCW Tag Team Champions Backseat Boys with Kashmere cut a promo. They are thrilled to be the tag champs and promise to be the best champions ever and they have waited their whole lives to represent JCW. “Backseat is back… alright!’

Backstage, Joe Galli interviews Geeves and Breyer Wellington. They are here at Lunacy to make it rain. Breyer suggests JCW humble themselves because they will make it rain no matter what.

MATCH #1: SIMON GOTCH VS. BREYER WELLINGTON
FINISH:
Gotch puts a headlock on Wellington and wins with essentially a choke hold.

Bob’s Take: Gotch is leaning into the amateur wrestling style and overwhelms Wellington throughout the bout. Gotch even gave Breyer wrestling headgear. I feel like Gotch’s style works best as a heel in JCW, but they may have responded better than I expected because the fans dislike Wellington as much as they do. There wasn’t much to this, though.
Match Rating: *

Before the next match, Officer Cabana asks the crowd to keep the volume down. Cabana insults Gowen for having one leg and he’s not going to wrestle him. Instead, Cabana gives the match to Deputy Dickhead.

MATCH #2: ZACH GOWEN VS. DEPUTY DICKHEAD
FINISH:
Late in the match, Cabana interferes after Gowen hit a Canadian Destroyer. 2 Tuff Tony takes care of Cabana allowing Gowen to hit a top rope moonsault for the win. After the match, Cabana beats up Dickhead to end their brief partnership. Cabana yells that he’s coming for Tony.

Bob’s Take: I’m liking Gowen and he seems to get a good reaction from the JCW crowd, but he is also from Detroit, so that could help matters. They played into Gowen having one leg throughout the match and Dickhead not knowing what moves will work because of it. While Dickhead comes across a bit of a moron, he does clearly have in-ring talent. I wouldn’t hate seeing a Cabana vs. Gowen match at Devil’s Night.
Match Rating: *1/2

Shaggy’s Spotlight with Shaggy 2 Dope is next. Shaggy looks at Kongo Kong, who is a three-time former JCW Heavyweight Champion. It’s just a video package of Kong wrestling.

MAIN EVENT: JCW HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION WILLIE MACK VS. JAMES STORM
FINISH:
Mack sends Storm head first into a steel chair in the corner and hits the stunner to retain the title.

Bob’s Take: This feels a little bit rushed as there hadn’t been any storyline connection between these two. I feel as if they could have slowly gotten to this showdown and just done it on the PPV instead of throwing it on Lunacy. I’m a bit a surprised that Mack got a pin on Storm. I don’t hate it, but just surprised. I thought the action was decent throughout, but it didn’t feel like it got past the first gear. Which, is fine if they revisit this down the line to have a more intense match.
Match Rating: **1/4

Final Thoughts:
An average episode this week. I liked that it was straight to the point and didn’t have anything filler wise. It was mostly in-ring wrestling and the show flew by as a result. I’m interested in Devil’s Night, but there’s nothing directly advertised for it. Nic Nemeth and Matt Riddle will be on the show and I’m interested to see how JCW produces a bigger show in this era.
