Angle Developments/Notes:
1.) Special Bulletin with Mean Gene. Gene announces that the Ultimate Warrior is officially out of Survivor Series. Gene introduces footage of Randy Savage recruiting Mr. Perfect to be his partner from Prime Time Wrestling. As we know, Mr. Perfect ended up accepting the offer and will now team with Randy Savage to fight Ric Flair and Razor Ramon at Survivor Series. We get a promo by Savage who says it’s too bad for Flair and Ramon to be upset. It’s all about surviving, that’s the name of the game. Mr. Perfect enters the scene and says who would have ever thought of this. Perfect tells Savage he doesn’t care for him and talks about Flair walking in his shadow and wanting to be like him. Perfect takes credit for bringing Ramon into the WWF, and he’s going to eliminate Ramon from the WWF. Perfect proclaims that he’s back and they are going to take the spotlight.
2.) Gorilla Monsoon and Bobby Heenan are on commentary. Heenan is livid that Perfect turned on himself and Flair. Heenan takes credit for Perfect’s success and this is how he is repaid by teaming up with Randy Savage. Heenan promises something bad is going to happen to Perfect.
3.) Beau attacks Sags from behind as The Genius distracted Sags. Beau delivers several strikes, but Sags decks Beau with a clothesline before going to the floor and stalking Genius. Genius runs up the aisle to escape Sags. Beau stomps Sags on the mat to regain control. Genius returns to the ringside area as Sags backdrops and scoop slams Beau for a two count. Beau pulls Sags through the middle rope to the floor. Beau strikes Sags on the apron and delivers a few stomps to the chest. Beau knee lifts Sags off the apron to the floor. Beau delivers a double under hook suplex for a near fall. Beau heads to the top rope nailing Sags with a double axe handle. Beau controls Sags with a sleeper, but Sags elbows Beau. Beau drops Sags with a piledriver before heading to the top rope again. Beau leaps off the top, but Sags nails Beau with a boot. Sags strikes Beau several times and drives Beau down to the mat face first. Beau drives Sags chest first into the corner. Sags side slams Beau and climbs to the top rope. Sags leaps off to hit an elbow drop and pins Beau for the clean win. After the match, Sags flips Genius into the ring and gives him the Pit Stop before dumping Genius over the top to the floor. (*1/2. A quick feature bout and a clean win for Sags is not a shock. Nasty Boys seem to be the next top babyface tag team to chase Money Inc. for the tag titles and they need to begin some momentum to look like a viable contending team.)
4.) During the Berzerker’s match the mysterious clown is seen in the crowd. Berzerker actually wins a match instead of settling for a count-out. Berzerker wins following a slam.
5.) Special Report hosted by Lord Alfred Hayes is next. Hayes talks about the WWF Intercontinental Championship match between British Bulldog and Shawn Michaels from last Saturday. Shawn Michaels won the WWF Intercontinental Championship after Bulldog’s back gave out on a superplex attempt.
6.) WWF Intercontinental Champion Shawn Michaels cut a promo saying that winning the title was a lot easier than he thought it would be. Michaels beat the guy who beat WWF World Champion Bret Hart. Michaels declares he’s walking out with Bret’s championship, too.
7.) Bob Backlund shared pre-tape comments during his match. Backlund says his return to the WWF is his biggest challenge and likes to obtain his goals and with the fans support he believes he can achieve them. Backlund won his match with a rollup.
8.) Paul Bearer and Undertaker preparing the coffin for Kamala is shown. Bearer talks about how people in coffins are already dead, but Kamala is going to be different because he’s going to be still alive when put in the coffin. Bearer reveals the coffin, which has Kamala’s belly art on the top. Undertaker steps out of the coffin and says he’s going to beat Kamala into a gruesome pulp. Undertaker says Kamala’s heart is going to be racing as he slams the lid shut. Taker promises Kamala will suffocate on his own breath. Taker assures us that Kamala will not survive and he will rest in peace.
9.) Backstage, Mean Gene is with Harvey Wippleman, Kamala and Kimchee. Wippleman says Undertaker is going to be in the coffin and says Taker will be going right back to the dark side. Kamala is yelling seemingly out of fear the entire segment.
10.) Nailz shared pre-tape comments during his match. Nailz has been waiting for the nightstick match and promises to break both Big Bossman’s legs.
11.) Survivor Series Report hosted by Mean Gene promotes the Survivor Series event. Big Bossman provided a promo telling Nailz to get ready to serve hard time at Survivor Series. Mean Gene announces that the Headshrinkers will battle High Energy at the event. We hear from Razor Ramon and Ric Flair, as well. Flair can’t believe Mr. Perfect would say he walked in Perfect’s shadow. Flair discredits the notion that Perfect led him to two WWF World Championships. Ramon chimes in and says nobody can outwrestle Flair or beat up Razor Ramon. Ramon notes that he was double crossed one time before. Ramon says he’s the only man oozing machismo in the WWF. Flair says they are prepared for Survivor Series. Flair dares Perfect to fight him at Survivor Series. Flair is especially insulted about Perfect claiming Flair walked in his shadow.
12.) Rick Martel shared pre-tape comments regarding his match with Tatanka. Martel is going to teach Tatanka a valuable lesson about getting his feathers. Don’t make promises that he can’t keep.
Final Thoughts:
A good episode of Wrestling Challenge as they had a strong focus on Survivor Series and touched upon all the major matches to promote the event.
