WWE Heat 5/18/2003

World Wrestling Entertainment presents Heat
Date:
5/18/2003
From: Charlotte, NC

Coach and Al Snow host Heat. Of course, this is happening an hour before Judgment Day takes place live on pay per view.

Backstage, Josh Matthews meets up with Sable arriving to the arena. Josh is looking forward to the bikini contest tonight. Sable says that Josh is a sex craved pervert and that’s who Torrie Wilson attracts. Sable says she’s going to look hot and he’s going to knock Josh back into puberty.

Backstage, Eric Bischoff is walking and he notices something to his right. Bischoff walks over to Chief Morley talking to Brooklyn Brawler and pulls him aside. Bischoff asks what Morley is doing there. Morley says he is planning on competing in the battle royal tonight. Morley admits he wasn’t a former champion, and walks off. Bischoff is left wondering why Morley said that.

Backstage, Terri is with WWE Women’s Champion Jazz and Teddy Long. Terri asks about the four way match and Teddy believes this is another example of the man trying to hold them down. Long says Jazz is going to be thuggin and buggin. Jazz chimes in and says the bitch is back, and Long notes that the bitch is black.

Outside, Kevin Nash and Shawn Michaels arrived to the arena together.

Earlier today, Josh Matthews interviews Smackdown Tag Team Champions Team Angle. Matthews notes that Chavo Guerrero Jr. was injured, which Team Angle takes credit for. Benjamin says Eddie Guerrero can either forfeit the match, or wrestle in a handicap ladder match.

MAIN EVENT: THE HURRICANE VS. STEVEN RICHARDS
FINISH:
Hurricane wins following the shining wizard.

Bob’s Take: Richards gets the first substance of control by dropping Hurricane over the top rope throat first and hit a snap suplex. Hurricane battled back with clotheslines and a backbreaker. Hurricane almost won following a nice top rope crossbody. Hurricane won quickly afterward and this is just a showcase for Hurricane. I don’t mind it. Hurricane has been a lot of fun in his singles role and I’d like a serious push for him. The WWE Intercontinental Championship returning could benefit him when the time is right.
Match Rating: *1/2

Moments ago, Smackdown World Champion Brock Lesnar has arrived to the arena. Big Show is seen looking on as Lesnar didn’t even see him.

Final Thoughts:
Basically your typical hype show for the PPV taking place. Judgment Day looks to have a good card overall and I find myself interested in seeing the stretcher match between Show and Lesnar.
