The Good & The Bad: WWF 1992 Part One

1992 is one of my favorite years in professional wrestling. WWF had most of the top names in wrestling and the rise of Bret Hart and Shawn Michaels, plus whacky characters like Papa Shango! WCW had a stellar roster too. But, the focus for this article is on the WWF. I’ll be looking through the year and mention both the good and the bad for what was happening.

Of course, this will be broken up into two parts. Part one will highlight what happened from January 1st to June 30th, 1992. Here we go… Read more

A Look Back At: The 1992 PWI 500 Rankings

Dec1992PWI

Last week, I took a look at the first ever Pro Wrestling Illustrated 500 ranking list. The journey of revisiting that history continues here as I look at the 1992 installment of the list. I should note that I’m considering the January to December timeframe in the first installment. I looked up the apparent timeframe that is from August of the previous year to July 31st of the actual year. That being said, I’ll try to maintain my opinions strictly by that timeframe. It seemed as if the 1991 version was covering most of the year, anyway.

For a complete list of the PWI 500 check it out HERE.

That being said, here we go. The notable names from the 1992 PWI 500 with the grading period of August 1st 1991 to July 31st 1992. Read more

Take The Book #4: WWF WrestleMania VIII

WrestleMania VIII happened on April 5th, 1992. The original card was carried by essentially three matches. Randy Savage vs. Ric Flair for the WWF World Championships, Bret Hart vs. Roddy Piper for the WWF Intercontinental Championship and Hulk Hogan taking on Sid Justice in the main event. I’ve always considered it to be one of my favorite Manias because it’s one of the first. However, I’ve looked at the card and the roster at that time and figured I could make a better show. So, here is my attempt at that. Of course, this is assuming everything went smooth and there weren’t any firings during the year. Read more
