WWF RAW 3/22/1993

Written By: Bob Colling

World Wrestling Federation presents RAW
Date: 3-22-1993
From: Manhattan Center, New York City

Vince McMahon, Randy Savage and Bob Bartlett welcome everyone to the show

A video of a leukemia foundation is shown, which the WWF is helping. Hulk Hogan and Randy Savage are two wrestlers at the event. Hogan does a speech, in character, and puts himself over instead of focusing on the people in need. During the speech, another video is shown with several WWF superstars meeting people who are struggling. This is same video from last week where Brian Knobbs put down smokers. Hogan mentions a story meeting a teenager a week before the teenager passed on. Vince McMahon comes up for a speech and gets rather emotional talking about kids who meet their role models and their pain going away for that short time.

RAW Opening Video

Opening Contest: The Bushwhackers defeated Repo Man/Damien Demento:
The Bushwhackers come through the crowd and actually remain in the crowd, even after a commercial break. A very slow contest, and one in which I don’t believe anyone jumped or got off their feet once. Demento got some offense in as Repo Man is continuing to be destroyed. Luke pins Repo after just under five and half minutes of action.

Second Contest: Tatanka defeated Reno Riggins:
Reno actually got some offense in, so it was a complete squash match. Tatanka is really over with the NYC and wins the match following a Samoan Drop.

Doink manages to trick Kamala into thinking he got him a present and Kamala was counted out.
After the match, Doink has a chair and thought that he hit Kamala a few times underneath the ring but didn’t. Kamala chases Doink to the backstage area.

Randy Savage takes on Yokozuna and The Undertaker takes on Bam-Bam Bigelow next week on the “March to Wrestle Mania IX”. Their will also be a Mega Maniacs interview

End of show

My Take:
Another week where nothing spectacular or overly entertaining happened. Kamala was made out to be a complete fool losing to Doink the way he did, but that’s his character. Next weeks show looks to be better on paper than this show.
