Wrestling Thoughts
Sixth Edition
Written by: Bob Colling
Well, I almost forgot that TNA had a pay per view today. Since the NFL is starting up today, I haven’t really paid attention to the lineup. Luckily, I saw some posts about it on Twitter and I remembered to get these predictions in. So, here we go!
#1 Contender’s Match: X-Division Championship:
Kid Kash vs. Jesse Sorensen
I’m not all that familiar with Sorensen, but the last that I read about Kash was he was going to be brought in to help elevate the younger talent. With that being the case, I’m going to pick Sorensen to prevail here as TNA may look to create a new X-Division star. Though, I don’t think that worked with Mark Haskins back in July.
Grudge Match:
Matt Morgan vs. Samoa Joe
I think this is a rather easy pick. By all accounts Joe will be squaring off against Crimson at Bound For Glory since he attacked him and took Crimson out of the BFG Series. The only way I can see Joe losing this match is if Crimson gets involved. Hopefully that doesn’t happen as Joe needs some momentum and I believe he beats Morgan cleanly.
TNA Knockouts Championship:
© Mickie James vs. Winter
James just recently regained the championship, so I don’t see her losing it back to Winter so quickly. James pulls this one out.
TNA X-Division Championship:
© Brian Kendrick vs. Austin Aries
If you have been reading my TNA predictions since I started these, you will notice that I am a big Austin Aries fan. The guy just has everything and reminds me a lot of a smaller Rick Rude. Thus, it shouldn’t come to any surprise that I am picking Aries to win the title here. He has been pushed pretty strong on television and didn’t get pinned in the three way he had last month for the title. I have to believe he is line for a title run.
TNA Tag Team Championship Match:
© Mexican America vs. D’Angelo Dinero & Brother Devon
Hasn’t Dinero been messing with Devon’s sons the past few months? I can’t imagine they pull this one as I believe they will be having an undercard match at Bound For Glory. This is another easy choice for Mexican America to retain the titles.
Bound For Glory Series Match: Semi-Finals
Bobby Roode vs. Gunner
Both guys have been on a roll in TNA. This may be the toughest match to choose from. I believe that Roode wins this bout, though. Gunner just doesn’t seem ready to be in the main event scene.
Bound For Glory Series Match: Semi-Finals
Bully Ray vs. James Storm
I don’t believe we will see a Beer Money Inc. final. At least I hope we don’t see that. I’m a big Bully Ray fan and believe that his singles push as a heel in a singles role has been long overdue. Ray wins this bout and heads to the finals.
Bound For Glory Series Match: Finals
Bobby Roode vs. Bully Ray
Man, do I wish that Kurt Angle was still a babyface. In my honest opinion, Bully Ray deserves to main event Bound For Glory. But, I can’t imagine there being a heel vs. heel main event at the biggest pay per view for the company. That being said, Roode wins this match and finally gets a TNA World Heavyweight Championship shot on pay per view. Though, I am not 100% sure the finals are taking place on this show.
TNA World Heavyweight Championship Match:
© Kurt Angle vs. Mr. Anderson vs. Sting
I don’t see Sting winning this match. It is pretty clear to me he is going to have a match with Hogan at BFG. I believe that Anderson will be involved with Bully Ray at BFG, leaving Angle without a big match at BFG. So, Kurt Angle, even though he was charged with a DUI in the past week, will walk out as the champion.
So, there you have it some quick predictions for TNA No Surrender. For those watching the event tonight, I hope you enjoy it!
