2.) Skip defeated Barry Horowitz
3.) Davey Boy Smith fought WWF World Tag Team Champion Owen Hart to a draw in a match to qualify for the 1995 King of the Ring
4.) Jean Pierre Lafitte defeated Jerry Flynn
Angle Developments/Notes:
1. Earlier today, Bob Backlund was campaigning to a bunch of fans outside the arena.
2. Vince McMahon hypes the show with Jerry Lawler. Apparently last weeks episode was the highest rated RAW in the history of the show to this point.
3. Savio Vega made his RAW debut this week. Vega forced Kendall to submit to a unique abdominal stretch.
4. A video promoting the WWF World Champion is shown. After the video, Ted DiBiase says his guys are sending him back to the hospital. Sid chimes in to say that he will show no remorse.
5. Backstage, Skip is running up and down steps while Sunny tells us he will have no problems later tonight.
6. Skip squares off against Barry Horowitz for his first match. Horowitz starts off with arm drags and a dropkick to get the early advantage. Horowitz nearly wins after a Thez Press. Skip delivers a suplex and wins after a top rope leg drop.
7. Todd Pettengill hosts the KOTR Report. He runs down the bracket for the tournament and announces that Jerry Lawler will wrestle Bret Hart in a Kiss My Foot match.
8. The Bulldog vs. Owen match actually took place in Syracuse, NY and happened before the pay per view. Owen misses a spear in the corner and hit the ring post shoulder first. Bulldog connected with a delayed vertical suplex for a near fall. Owen stops Bulldog with a knee lift and goes to work with several blows. Owen nails Bulldog with a spin kick but Bulldog drops Owen with a back suplex. Owen kicks Bulldog in the head but is catapulted into the corner. Bulldog gets a two count following a fisherman suplex. Bulldog slams Owen with a running power slam but Owen gets his foot on the rope. They begin to trade pin attempts and time runs out. As a result, both men have been eliminated from the tournament.
9. A video of Jerry Lawler saying he hasn’t washed his feet in two weeks and hasn’t planned on cleaning them either. Lawler reveals the stipulation for his match with Bret Hart as being a Kiss My Foot match.
10. Vince McMahon is in the ring to interview Bret Hart. Hart says he has seen a lot of things while in the WWF. He knew the match would be sick. Hart accepts the match. Hart talks about letting his family down. Lawler is showing off his dirty feet. Hart finishes off saying that he will shove Lawler’s own feet down his mouth!
11. Jean Pierre Lafitte pinned Jerry Flynn in a squash match after hitting a Cannonball off the top.
12. Bob Backlund tells us that he will be back next week to eliminate Man Mountain Rock.
13. A video promoting a match between Yokozuna and Lex Luger is shown to close the show.
Final Thoughts:
A decent show with a fine match between Bulldog and Owen to go along with some good hype for the Bret/Lawler match at KOTR. I’m disappointed that Owen didn’t make the KOTR tournament. Also, it’s cool to see Chris Candido (Skip) debut in the WWF but with a ridiculous gimmick. I’d give this a mild thumbs up just because of the Bulldog/Owen match.
Thanks for reading.
