TNA Genesis 2012 Predictions!

Tomorrow night TNA returns to pay per view with Genesis. The card looks to be a solid line-up, but that doesn’t mean it will deliver. Here are my predictions for the show. Feel free to share your own.

For the Knockouts Championship:
(champion) Gail Kim vs. Mickie James

I’ve enjoyed Kim in TNA for the short time he has been back with the promotion. I find it a little odd that they put her in a feud with Mickie so quickly, but I guess they don’t have patience. That, or they have a different knockout in mind to beat Kim for the title. I think that is the case. Kim wins this one.

Grudge Match:
D’Angelo Dinero vs. Devon

The last I knew, Dinero had won over Devon’s kids or something like that. I have no idea about this match, and I don’t really care all that much. I’ll assume Devon wins here.

Gunner vs. Rob Van Dam
I’m hoping that Gunner wins this match. RVD has shown to be incredibly lazy and hasn’t helped TNA whatsoever. I’d start jobbing him out for being a bum. Gunner should win this one and get that important victory to make him a threat in the promotion. I’m going to pick Gunner, but TNA might look to keep RVD happy by having him win.

Monster’s Ball Match:
Abyss vs. Bully Ray

This should be a good, bloody fight. I’m a huge fan of Bully Ray and find the character to be rather refreshing. It just works so well. I feel like Abyss is in line for some kind of push and as a result he will put Ray away here. I still think Ray should be the champion at some point in TNA.

For the X-Division Championship:
(champion) Austin Aries vs. Zema Ion vs. Kid Kash vs. Jesse Sorensen

There is still no reason to take the belt off of Aries. They have yet to develop any kind of angle worthy of Aries to even be a part of. The only threat I see to the title is Sorensen but I hope Aries keeps the title.

For the World Tag Team Championships:
(champions) Matt Morgan & Crimson vs. Samoa Joe & Magnus

I’ve never liked the idea of having two singles wrestlers teaming up. That is the case here. I never realized how depleted the tag division really is in TNA. They once had an incredibly strong tag division but that is far from being the case now. I’m expecting Magnus to turn on Joe here and for the champions retaining the titles.

Kurt Angle vs. James Storm
They have given Storm a lot of momentum as of late, including a victory over Angle at the last pay per view. I don’t see that happening a second time, at least not in a row. Storm has been doing a great job, but Angle probably needs to win this one to drag out their issue a little longer.

For the World Championship
(champion) Bobby Roode vs. Jeff Hardy

Ugh, I think Roode’s title reign comes to an end. I feel like they are going to try and have that happy ending moment for Hardy this Sunday. They continue to talk about how he got this second chance and all that jazz. In my opinion, the Roode reign has been great and should continue to at least Lockdown. But, I feel like Hardy regains the gold here just to make it a feel good story.

Those are my predictions for tomorrow. Night. For the handful of people who actually purchase the event, I hope you enjoy it!
