1.)Natural Selection defeated Peter Avalon & Mike Reign
2.)Shelly Martinez defeated Lucky O’Shay
3.)Joey Kaos defeated Ray Rosas
4.)NWA Heritage Tag Team Champions RockNES Monsters defeated Los Luchas to retain the titles
1.Natural Selection open the show competing in tag team action. These two guys are in rather good physical condition. They are apparently prospects discovered by Percy Pringle. Natural Selection hit a dropkick/chop block on Reign in the opening moments. Avalon tagged in for a split second but got afraid and tagged back out to Reign who had been taking a beating. Reign wants to tag out but Avalon ditches his partner. Natural Selection win the match following a power bomb/top rope clothesline. I was rather impressed by this new tag team. They both have a good look and appear to have some good moves. After the match, they are interviewed. Brian Cage says they are the new standard of tag team wrestling in the NWA. Cage thinks they are the future tag team champions. Shaun Richter says that the champions better be aware of them because they are coming for the gold.
2.Backstage, the NWA World Tag Team Champions RockNES Monsters are interviewed. They don’t know who they are facing at the next taping but they will take care of business.
3.We hear comments from Scorpio who was upset about being so close to beating Adam Pearce last week. He can’t deal with Rocky Romero attacking him. The same goes for Claudio Castagnoli. Next week, there will be a six man tag match. Scorpio Sky teams up with Joey Ryan and Willie Mack to take on Adam Pearce, Claudio Castagnoli and Ricky Romero!
4.Backstage, Joey Kaos is interviewed. Kaos says he has been around the block one to many times. He says that the NWA will advertise him as being a force to be reckoned with.
5.Earlier today, Shelly Martinez says you may of known her from a different place (WWE) but you might catch yourself having fun with Fun Time Shelly.
6.Next up is some women wrestling between Shelly Martinez and Lucky O’Shay. Lucky is disgusted with what Shelly was doing in the ring. They quickly end up on the floor but that doesn’t last long. Shelly wins after hitting a leg sweep.
7.Backstage, the Tribe is interviewed. Warrior puts everyone on notice that the Tribe is back. He says that when the weak ones fall behind they get new ones. They are going to win the NWA Heritage Tag Team Championships.
8.I’m not 100% sure but I think Joey Kaos also competed in XPW. Kaos won the squash match with the Gonzo Bomb (Cradle Shock).
9.Zokre and Yuma started the main event off with Yuma hitting a head scissors take down. The champs with a nice series of moves that saw Goodtime hit a slingshot leg drop from the apron for a near fall. Star enters and avoids a splash by Goodtime. Star hits a hurricanrana but is flapjacked by Goodtime. The champs hit double senton splashes on Star as well. Yuma is on Goodtime’s as he clotheslines the challengers. The champs hit double slingshot dives on the floor as we go to commercial. Yuma is low blowed by Star behind the referees back. Zokre kept control with an elbow drop. The challengers continue to double team Yuma while the referee is distracted by Goodtime. Goodtime is really not helping his partner as he continues to distract the referee. Zokre hits a nice springboard moonsault and Star hits a top rope splash for a near fall. Goodtime finally gets the tag and runs down the ramp way to hit both challengers with a clothesline! Goodtime hits a head scissors and a German suplex on Zokre for a near fall. Zokre hits a double stomp on Goodtime but Star only gets a near fall on the cover. Zokre nails Yuma with a somersault neck breaker from the middle rope. Zokre kicks Yuma to the floor leaving Goodtime by himself. Star hits a springboard dropkick on Goodtime. Yuma yanks Zokre off the apron and Goodtime is able to backslide Star for the win. (***. It was a good fast pace contest that really showcased both teams very well. I wouldn’t be opposed to seeing these four guys compete several more times on the program.)
10.Next week, Joey Kaos, Christie Von Erie, and the previously mentioned six man tag match will be on the program!
It was another good episode for NWA Hollywood this week. The main event was a nice change of pace compared to the other main events. It was quick and it was one of the matches where the fans really made some noise for it. I’m figuring the Natural Selection tag team will be a force in the company for a long time, and I think that is a good decision. This is the first time I’ve ever seen them wrestle and they really interested me. I can’t believe I didn’t start watching this program more often!
Overall, this program gets a thumbs up from me. They have yet to have an awful show.
