TNA returns to pay per view tonight with Genesis. Here is the card for the event along with my predictions.
Knockouts Gauntlet Match for the Number One Contendership
Gail Kim vs. ODB vs. Mickie James vs. Miss Tessmacher vs. Velvet Sky
I’m thinking that Sky will win here since he just recently returned to the promotion and I can’t imagine her losing here. I’m figuring we will see Tara/Sky at Lockdown.
TNA Television Champion Devon vs. Joseph Park
While everyone knows that Park is actually Abyss, TNA continues to pretend like he isn’t. So, this guy has been training for all of one or two weeks and gets a match with the apparent leader of Aces & Eights. If Devon can’t win this match, they might as well slap each and every one of us in the face.
Finals Of The TNA X-Division Tournament:
Christian York vs. Kenny King
There isn’t a story between York and RVD. However, there is a history and recent story between RVD and King. As a result, I’d imagine King wins here.
For the TNA X-Division Championship:
[champion] Rob Van Dam vs. Kenny King
Ten years ago RVD as the X-Division Champion would fit perfectly. But, in 2013 it just doesn’t work and he is getting sloppier and sloppier. This is a good of a time as any to allow King to get a big rub and beat Rob Van Dam. It’s time for the king to get his crown.
Christopher Daniels vs. James Storm
It was only a matter of time before Storm got tired of Kazarian and fought the big man of Bad Influence. “Big man” as in Daniels is the bigger star. Anyway, I’d like to pick Daniels here since I feel like Storm has lost all his momentum and popularity with constant big match loses. Plus, a possible Hardy/Daniels match to interesting to me. I’m going to go with Storm, though. But, I hope I’m wrong.
DOC vs. Sting
I’m surprised this doesn’t have a no disqualification stipulation attached to it, but that could change. Ideally, this is where DOC would get a big win for not only himself but the group. I don’t see it actually happening but I’m going to predict that it will regardless. I’m thinking that Mr. Anderson would get involved and help DOC overcome Sting. Please, TNA, give Aces & Eights the win they need greatly.
For the TNA World Tag Team Championships:
[champions] Chavo Guerrero Jr. & Hernandez vs. Matt Morgan & Joey Ryan
The more that I watch Morgan and Ryan, the more I’m becoming a fan of the team. Ryan is a great sleazy heel and Morgan is doing a good enough job as his enforcer. I have no interest in Chavo and Hernandez. I like Hernandez but Chavo doesn’t do anything for me. I’ll go with Morgan and Ryan to win here.
For the TNA World Heavyweight Championship: Elimination Match
[champion] Jeff Hardy vs. Bobby Roode vs. Austin Aries
Let me just say that Austin Aries and Bobby Roode have made this match very interesting and their interactions on Impact the last couple of weeks have been really entertaining. This should be a solid match, but the outcome should be obvious. Or, is it? Rumors are that Hardy and Aries will be wrestling at Lockdown, which is the second of the big four pay per views for TNA this year. The old school fan in me would say that Aries would win here and have Hardy chase him for a couple of months before dropping it back. Then again, Hardy’s contract is almost over and odds are as long as he has the belt on him he would stay long-term. They just need to find something for Roode, now. Hardy retains.
Those are my predictions for TNA Genesis. Feel free to share your own below.
