Written by: Bob Colling

World Wrestling Federation presents Superstars
Date:
10/22/1994
From: Poughkeepsie, NY

Matches:
1.)Bob Backlund defeated Bob Holly
2.)the 1-2-3 Kid defeated Chris Kanyon
3.)King Kong Bundy defeated John Crystal
4.)Davey Boy Smith defeated Duane Gill
5.)Tatanka defeated Aaron Ferguson
6.)the Smoking Gunns defeated Kerry Davis & Tony DeVito

Angle Developments/Notes:
1. Backlund wants to shake hands but Holly simply refuses that offer. A rather slow start to the match with neither man getting much of an advantage. They are really just testing each other out. Backlund gets a few take downs on Holly, but Holly gets one of his own. It looks like they will hit a move and then walk around the ring to stall. Backlund scoop slams Holly a couple of times but Holly comes back with dropkicks and an arm lock. Backlund works over Holly for a few minutes, but Holly is able to counter a gut wrench suplex with one of his own. Holly gets a near fall after a big powerslam. Backlund is able to lock in the chicken wing and wins the match by submission. (*. A slow match and uninteresting from the start. Backlund’s in-ring style just isn’t appealing to me at this era. They are trying to make him a serious threat to Bret’s championship. They are being successful in that, but it’s not very entertaining when he wrestles.)

2. The Heartbreak Hotel is back this week with Doink the Clown as the guest. Jerry Lawler and Doink are having their feud involve dwarfs. Doink has Dink and Wink with him and they keep walking around and pinch the champs a few times. Doink reveals another one of his partners as being Pink! So, the clowns decide to run around and jump on the bed. Michaels and Diesel just walk off the set frustrated.

3. A video of IRS at a funeral home is shown. IRS wants to know how many people will escape paying their taxes by dying. Even when your dead and gone, you still have to pay your taxes!

Final Thoughts:
Another bad episode of Superstars this week. The featured match was boring and the main interview segment involved a character that sucks. There wasn’t anything good about this one.

Thanks for reading.
