Angle Developments/Notes:
1. WWF Women’s Champion Sensational Sherri is in the ring for Greg Valentine’s introduction. She ended up giving Valentine a kiss before leaving the ring.
2. Mean Gene conducted an interview with Bobby Heenan, Ted DiBiase, Virgil and Hercules. DiBiase’s tease about a new possession is mentioned. Ted says everyone has a price for him. He has everything you could possibly name. DiBiase has something that no one else in the world has. Gene wants to know what it is. Ted has a briefcase and gives Heenan a briefcase full of money. DiBiase has bought his own personal slave. Gene wants to know who the slave is, and it’s Hercules! Hercules doesn’t like the sound of that. Hercules grabs Heenan and begins to get mad. Heenan tells Hercules he has earned this job. DiBiase whacks Hercules over the back with the briefcase! DiBiase tells Hercules he doesn’t walk or speak unless he gives him permission. DiBiase begins to slap Hercules and stomps away on Hercules. Virgil kicks Hercules several times and gets several shots in. Hercules fights back and knocks Virgil off the podium. Hercules takes his chain off and whirls it around causing DiBiase to run away from the podium. Hercules is one pissed off slave. I enjoyed that segment and it did a good job of turning Hercules into a babyface, I thought.
3. A vignette promoting the debut of a new wrestler is aired. The wrestler is known as Mr. Perfect. Perfect is playing pool and says that there is nothing wrong with him and has no flaws. Perfect proceeds to make a few hard shots.
4. This is Akeem’s wrestling debut. Remember, he was previously the One Man Gang and transformed into Akeem the African Dream.
Final Thoughts:
A good show this week that featured a really enjoyable angle between DiBiase and Hercules. The thought the idea of DiBiase having a slave was a bit risky, but DiBiase is an evil heel and the way they went about it made Hercules into a quick babyface. This brings DiBiase to the midcard scene, but it could be a solid program.
Thanks for reading.
