Written by: Bob Colling

World Championship Wrestling presents Main Event
Date:
3/26/1995
From: Atlanta, GA

Matches:
1.) Johnny B. Badd defeated Paul Orndorff
2.) Sting defeated The Butcher

Angle Developments/Notes:
1. Early on, Badd controls Orndorff with a scoop slam but Paul bails to the floor since Badd has a taped left hand. Paul Roma makes his way down to ringside while Badd controls Orndorff on the canvas. Badd delivers a knee lift as Orndorff has not been able to get any offense in. Badd hits a top rope double axe handle but on a second attempt Orndorff stops him with an elbow. Paul maintains control with a forearm drop keeping his offense basic. Paul leaps off the top but Badd gets his knees up and jabs away on Orndorff. Badd fights back in the corner with strikes but Orndorff turns it around and accidentally strikes Badd in the face. Badd counters a piledriver and sends Orndorff into the ropes, which causes Roma to flip in from the apron and Badd pins Roma to win the match as the referee was holding his eye. (DUD. What an incredibly boring match and a bad finish to add to it. The crowd was dead for it and the action left a lot to be desired.)

2. Sting avoids a leg drop early on and hits one of his own on Butcher to gain control. Butcher gets the cheap advantage with chokes on Sting. Sting rolls Butcher up after hitting the corner and nearly wins the match. Sting hits a Stinger Splash and goes for the Scorpion Death Lock but Kevin Sullivan gets on the apron to distract him. Butcher sends Sting to the floor where Sting sends Sullivan into the ring post. Sting manages to hit a top rope cross body and dumps Kevin to the floor. Sting rolls Butcher up for the win. (DUD. God, what awful matches this week on Main Event.) After the match, Sullivan is not happy with Butcher who is pleading his case. They are shoving each other. They end up making amends.

Final Thoughts:
A rough show to sit through. The crowd was not interested in what was going on whatsoever and the wrestlers gave them a bad showing. A big thumbs down from me.

Thanks for reading.
