World Championship Wrestling presents Main Event
Date: 3/27/1994
From: Macon, GA

Matches:
1.) The Boss fought Ron Simmons to a double disqualification

Angle Developments/Notes:
1.) It appears that Main Event has turned into mostly a recap show but there are one to two exclusive matches. This went into effect on the March 13th, 1994.

2.) Simmons doesn’t want Boss to be allowed to use the nightstick. Boss puts the stick on the apron. Simmons gets in Boss’s face and gets his hand slapped away a few times. Boss backs Simmons into the corner and Simmons shoves Boss away. Simmons knee lifts Boss and delivers right hands in the corner. Simmons sends Boss into the corner and Boss crashes to the mat. Boss slides to the floor and ends up booting Simmons followed by a right hand. Boss works on the left arm of Simmons. Simmons puts a full nelson on Boss but that doesn’t last very long. Boss stomps on Simmons foot and is kicked away. Boss atomic drops Simmons followed by a clothesline and a leaping crossbody for a two count. Simmons plants Boss with a back suplex to gain momentum of the contest. Simmons stomps on Boss and taunts the fans. Simmons decks Boss with a short arm clothesline and gets a two count.

Simmons keeps a sleeper on Boss, but Boss gets to his feet after a few moments. Boss fights out and delivers a shoulder block. Boss misses a splash and is met with a kick to the ribs. Simmons scoop slams Boss and signals for a clothesline. They collide on stereo clothesline attempts. Boss fires back on Simmons with right hands and hits a splash in the corner. Boss decks Simmons and splashes onto Simmons over the middle rope. Boss slides to the floor and punches Simmons. Simmons has the nightstick, but Boss clotheslines Simmons to the floor and the referee calls for the bell. Apparently, that’s a double disqualification. (*1/2. They started off a little rough, but it gradually got a little better. It’s just weird that Simmons didn’t do the job since he’s done basically nothing of note for the last year and a half.)

Final Thoughts:
A skippable show as I was mostly just intrigued in Boss/Simmons because it seemed like it could have been a good power guy match. Main Event becoming just a recap show is a little disappointing, but it has stronger matches from all the syndication.

Thanks for reading.
