Written by: Bob Colling

World Wrestling Federation presents Superstars
Date:
2/3/1996
From: San Jose, CA

Matches:
1.) The Godwinns defeated James Samudo & Ed Morretti
2.) Isaac Yankeem DDS defeated Avatar
3.) Marty Jannetty defeated Greg Davis
4.) Hakushi defeated Buddy Wayne
5.) Razor Ramon defeated Jeff Jarrett by disqualification

Angle Developments/Notes:
1.) Hillbilly Jim cut a pre-tape promo saying that he’s proud of the Godwinns and suggests that nobody should mess with his boys.

2.) The new interim WWF President Roddy Piper cut a pre-tape promo saying that he thinks that OJ, Michael Jackson and Vader are all guilty and need to be taken care of.

3.) Yankeem and Avatar tried strikes, but Yankeem gets the early advantage. Avatar spin kicks Yankeem into the corner and continues with strikes. Yankeem press slams Avatar to the mat. Yankeem continues with a couple of short arm clotheslines. Yankeem works over Avatar in the corner several times. Yankeem clotheslines Avatar and taunts the crowd. Yankeem spikes Avatar with a DDT, or known as the DDS for the win. (NR. Well, that was mostly a complete squash. I can’t tell if they are still trying to get Yankeem over or not. He likely needs a character change to remain relevant.)

4.) A vignette promoting an earless wrestler is shown. The announcers let us know that his name is Mankind. He wants to know why so many people are scared of him.

5.) Jarrett tries to attack from behind, but Ramon delivers a few right hands and tries for the Razors Edge, but Jarrett bails to the floor. Jarrett pulls Ramon to the floor and is met with right hands. Jarrett misses an elbow drop in the ring. Jarrett avoids a clothesline, but not a right hand to the face a couple of times. Jarrett yanks Ramon down by his hair. Jarrett splashes onto Ramon’s back over the middle rope. Jarrett connects with a slingshot back suplex for a two count. Jarrett tries for a sunset flip, but Ramon delivers a right hand. Jarrett nails Ramon with a dropkick for a two count. Jarrett controls Ramon on the mat with a sleeper hold. Ramon elbows free and ducks a clothesline. Jarrett puts a sleeper on Ramon. Jarrett hits a swinging neckbreaker for a two count. Ramon almost wins with a rollup and Jarrett nails Ramon with a clothesline. Jarrett keeps Ramon in a sleeper hold for a few moments. Ramon drives Jarrett down with a back suplex. 1-2-3 Kid makes his way down to the ring wit a baby stroller. Ramon goes for a cover, but Jarrett kicks out as the show goes to commercial.

Ramon hammers away on Jarrett a few times. Jarrett ducks a clothesline and tries for a crossbody, but Ramon hits a fallaway slam and clotheslines Jarrett over the top to the floor. Ramon decks Kid on the floor and returns to the ring. Jarrett begs off in the corner. Ramon crotches Jarrett on the top turnbuckle hitting a back suplex. Jarrett sends Ramon to the floor to avoid the Razors Edge. Jarrett sends Ramon into the ring post face first. Kid hits Ramon with a baby stroller and that causes a disqualification. After the match, Ahmed Johnson runs out and chases both Jarrett and Kid to the backstage area. Johnson returns to ringside to check on Ramon. (**. It’s not a bad match as Jarrett and Ramon do have a good formula. I don’t mind the finish as it advances the Kid/Ramon feud. I wasn’t expecting a finish to this anyway.)

Final Thoughts:
At least we got a decent Jarrett/Ramon match this week. However, there’s not enough substance here to make this worthwhile.

Thanks for reading.
