Angle Developments/Notes:
1.) Rudy Rude would go on to be known as Bobby Roode/Robert Roode in both TNA and WWE.
2.) Saturn controls Rude on the mat with a headlock, but Rue counters quickly. Saturn fireman carry slams Rude, but Rude does the same to Saturn. Saturn elbows Rude into a corner and delivers a few shoulder rams to maintain the advantage. Saturn knee strikes Rude in the corner. Rude avoids Saturn in the corner and delivers a drop toe toe hold followed by a flapjack. Rude hits a swinging neckbreaker, but Saturn blocks being taken down to the mat right afterward. Rude kicks Saturn, but is dropped throat first over the top rope. Saturn nails Rude with a savant kick. Saturn kisses Terri on the floor and controls Rude with a cobra clutch on the mat. Saturn tosses Rude overhead with a suplex. Saturn continues with a slam and goes to the top rope missing a moonsault attempt. Rude nails Saturn with a clothesline and a spinning heel kick. Rude hits a suplex, but Saturn avoids a second one. Rude manages a two count with a rollup. Saturn clotheslines Rude and hits the Death Valley Driver for the win. (**. Simple and effective. Rude worked a little different than he’d be accustomed to doing when he rises to fame.)
3.) Ryder avoids Albert in the corner and delivers a few strikes. Albert no sells a few chops and decks Ryder to the mat with a strike. Albert nails Ryder with a clothesline and an over the shoulder bearhug. Albert nails Ryder with a bicycle kick. Albert tosses Ryder into the corner and delivers a few strikes. Albert tosses Ryder across the ring and hits a double under hook slam. Ryder eye rakes Albert and continues with strikes. Ryder kicks Albert and tries for a clothesline, but settles for a sunset flip attempt. Albert blocks and hits the Baldo Bomb for the win. (*. A fine short showcase for Albert. If given a proper chance, Albert could be fun as a big man heel.)
4.) Destiny controls Kwik with a wrist lock, but that doesn’t last long and Kwik counters. Destiny delivers a few shoulder blocks, but Kwik forearms free and collides with Destiny. Kwik tries for a hip toss, but Destiny counters and yanks Kwik down. Kwik dropkicks Destiny and keeps control with an arm bar on the mat. Destiny backs Kwik into a corner, but the referee breaks them apart. Destiny chops Kwik in the corner and continues with stomps in the corner. Kwik punches Destiny in the corner, but Destiny delivers a side slam for a two count. Destiny knee drops Kwik and keeps Kwik on the mat. Kwik head scissors Destiny and ducks a clothesline to deliver a strike. Kwik nails Destiny with a leaping forearm smash and does a split. Kwik punches Destiny a few times into a corner. Destiny misses Kwik in the corner and runs into a leaping heel kick leading to a near fall. Destiny dumps Kwik to the apron, but Kwik climbs the corner and is crotched by Destiny. Destiny tries for a suplex, but Kwik punches free and hits a middle rope front suplex for the win. (*. Kwik probably needs a more seasoned enhancement worker than Destiny here to truly shine. This came across a little clunky.)
5.) Rios and Hotty kickoff the main event. Hotty shoulder blocks Rios and comes off the ropes trading waist locks. Hotty chops Rios a few times and hits a swinging neckbreaker. Sexay tags into the match and Too Cool hit a Hart Attack. Sexay punches Rios several times and misses a middle rope crossbody attempt. Rios chops Sexay to the mat and tags in Collyer. Collyer takes Sexay over with a fireman carry. Collyer shoulder blocks Sexay and runs the ropes, but is met with a powerslam. Too Cool drive Collyer to the mat butt first and Hotty dropkicks a seated Collyer. Hotty savant kicks Collyer to the mat followed by a few strikes in the corner. Collyer dumps Hotty to the apron, but Hotty pulls Collyer down in the corner and crotches Collyer. Rios takes Hotty out with a somersault dive over the ring post to the floor. Rios tags back into the match and strikes Hotty. Rios backdrops Hotty coming off the ropes. Rios nails Hotty with a spin kick and Collyer kicks Hotty several times. Hotty strikes Collyer in the corner, but Collyer comes back with a powerslam for a two count. Collyer hits a double under hook suplex for a two count. Rios returns to the match and slams Hotty. Rios misses a top rope moonsault. Collyer and Sexay get the hot tags with Sexay hitting a few clotheslines and a powerbomb to Rios. Sexay kicks Collyer to the floor. Too Cool double backdrops Rios. Hotty clotheslines Collyer to the floor. Rios misses a moonsault attempt and Hotty bulldogs Rios. Hotty hits the WORM on Rios. Collyer is driven down with a double flapjack. Sexay heads to the top and hits the Hip Hop Drop to pin Collyer for the win. (*1/2. Obviously it’s a completely random tag team of Rios and Collyer and it was never a doubt as to who would be taking the fall here. Collyer doesn’t have much personality, and in the WWF being a good wrestler is only going to get you so far. Rios should be thriving in the Lightweight division and not in these kind of matches.)
Final Thoughts:
I’d consider this a lackluster Metal overall. The enhancement matches didn’t provide a lot of entertainment and I think they chose a few inexperienced guys for those spots. Regardless, it’s a harmless hour of TV.
Thanks for reading.
