A decent match with some solid action. I like the pairing of Spears and Blanchard. Spears using misdirect several times in the match worked for me, too. It sure feels like the SCU title run has fallen flat amongst the fans. Lucha Brothers and Private Party are more entertaining teams and it was obvious during the match that was the case. I understand Riho using the double stomp several times because realistically it may not have a severe impact on her opponents considering her small stature. Excalibur noted these two have quite the rivalry in Japan and knowing that made me more interested in the match since they are essentially even in the win/loss department.)

Cody has lost the match due to MJF throwing the towel in! (***1/2. A good match between these two as there were several layers to the match. It held my interest that’s for sure. The finish was a bit flat as I don’t think the crowd thought that MJF would actually toss in the towel. As soon as he was seen with the towel out of nowhere it should have been obvious. Now, Cody can never challenge for the title and he’s peaked in what he can accomplish. In that aspect, it’s a bizarre booking decision to even have the stipulation.) After the match, Cody can’t believe he’s lost as MJF is trying to communicate to his best pal what happened. MJF is crying and apologizing to Cody. MJF low blows Cody! If these matches are done on the rare occasion then I think there’s a place for it. There were numerous big spots and the finish was suitable for the match stipulation. Mox comes across as an absolute lunatic and seems unstoppable in AEW. A great, violent main event to close out Full Gear.)

Final Thoughts:
Easily gets a thumbs up from me. Solid action throughout with several memorable/noteworthy matches. MJF appears to be breaking out in a heel role by turning on Cody. Mox probably should be the next challenger for the AEW World Championship. Where would he possibly go after that match? Full Gear 2019 is a great show and didn’t feel like a chore to watch with a near 4-hour runtime (almost five counting the Buy-In).
