4.) Skinner defeated Jim Powers

Angle Developments/Notes:
1.) Vince McMahon, Jim Duggan, Hillbilly Jim, Bobby Heenan and Mr. Perfect are on the panel. Heenan talks about Big Bossman being out of action due to the former convict attacking Bossman recently on Superstars. Duggan says that Bossman represents the fine blue line. Heenan says the man was an innocent man put behind bars.

2.) WWF Update hosted by Mean Gene this week focuses on Papa Shango having some kind of move over Ultimate Warrior. Shango recently put a curse on Warrior and we’re reminded of Warrior recently vomiting and black goo coming out of his head. Gene says he’s not looking forward to what Shango is capable of doing.

3.) The panel talks about Warrior and Shango some more. Heenan doesn’t want to see the curse stuff and insists there’d be no reason for him to be cursed. Duggan thinks Warrior should follow all the rules to avoid any effects of a curse.

4.) Tanaka wants to shake hands with Virgil and proceeds to shove Virgil. Virgil responds with a shove and a couple of hip tosses leading to Tanaka to beg off. Virgil backdrops Tanaka coming out of the corner. Virgil dropkicks Tanaka to the floor and dives over the top to take Tanaka out on the floor. Tanaka gets back into the ring and avoids a right hand, but Virgil decks Tanaka to the floor. Virgil backs Tanaka into a corner and sends Tanaka into the corner, but misses a knee strike. Tanaka nails Virgil with a savant kick. Tanaka chops Virgil a few times and delivers a headbutt to the lower midsection of Virgil. Tanaka nails Virgil with another chop. Tanaka waits and superkicks Virgil before putting a sleeper on Virgil. Virgil elbows Tanaka and runs the ropes to deliver a shoulder block. Tanaka dumps Virgil through the ropes to the floor. Tanaka thrust Virgil on the floor and rolls back into the ring. Tanaka goes back to controlling Virgil with a sleeper. Virgil elbows Tanaka and runs the ropes to send Tanaka into the corner. Virgil chops Tanaka and delivers a back elbow in the corner. Virgil fires back with right hands and blocks a kick. Virgil knocks Tanaka to the mat with a strike followed by a couple of dropkicks. Virgil avoids Tanaka in the corner and puts the Million Dollar Dream on Tanaka to win the match. (*1/2. Far more competitive than it probably needs to be. Tanaka had a few solid savant kicks and Virgil diving over the ropes will always be a crazy visual to see.)

5.) The panel continues to talk about Papa Shango. Perfect thinks that Warrior is trying to hide his fear and thinks Shango has Warrior’s number. Heenan asks McMahon what could be happening, but McMahon deflects and doesn’t answer the question.

6.) After his victory, Mountie threatened to use the shock stick, but security and officials prevent the usage on the enhancement talent.

7.) The panel talk about the severe beating that Big Bossman suffered over the weekend by the supposed ex-con. Duggan thinks that Bossman will return to the WWF. Heenan doesn’t care and focuses on the ex-con being wrongfully convicted.

8.) Footage of the ex-convict brutally attacking Bossman from Superstars is shown in full.

9.) The panel talks about the Bossman beating with Duggan being pissed off about it and he will not stand for it. Perfect gets a little heated with Duggan trying to defend the convict, but nothing happens.

10.) Skinner works over Powers with a headbutt and a back rake followed by strikes against the ropes. Skinner runs the ropes and Powers hip tosses Skinner followed by a scoop slam. Skinner regroups in the corner. Skinner shoulder rams Powers in the corner followed by another headbutt. Skinner misses a running elbow strike in the corner and Powers takes Skinner down to the mat to deliver a leg drop to the arm. Powers elbows Skinner over the shoulder. Powers stomps Skinner on the face to avoid a catapult. Powers controls Skinner with a wrist lock and Skinner drops to his knees. Powers keeps a wrist lock on Skinner, but Skinner eventually drops Powers throat first over the top rope. Skinner chokes Powers on the mat to maintain the advantage. Skinner puts the abdominal stretch on Powers while using the ropes for leverage. Skinner continues to work over Powers lower back and chokes Powers over the top rope. Skinner stops Powers with a knee lift coming off the ropes and taunts the crowd. Skinner covers for a two count. Skinner controls Powers with a sleeper before ramming Powers into the corner. Skinner charges the corner, but is met with a boot to the face. Powers rams Skinner face first into the corner several times. Powers clotheslines Skinner and is fired up. Powers strikes Skinner in the midsection and delivers a knee lift. Powers dropkicks Skinner coming off the ropes for a two count as Skinner got to the ropes. Powers misses a splash and hits the corner. Skinner plants Powers with a reverse DDT for the win. (*1/2. A rare TV win for Skinner over a guy that has a name that someone would know. It went exactly how you’d expect. The clean victory is always good even if Powers doesn’t have any momentum whatsoever.)

11.) Vince McMahon wishes a speedy recovery to Big Bossman. Heenan claims to have an update and there’s good news and bad news. Heenan says his jaw is wired, but he can still suck grits.

Final Thoughts:
I mean, there was basically nothing here that was important to the angles. They didn’t even touch upon some of the major angles going on. This felt like a filler week focusing mostly on Bossman/convict angle and putting over that beating along with Shango’s curse.
