Angle Developments/Notes:
1.) Jim Ross hosts Power Hour and runs down the card for tonights show, which will featured WCW Television Champion Steve Austin defending against Ricky Steamboat.

2.) Eaton backs Bagwell into a corner and hip tosses Bagwell across the ring. Eaton gets in Bagwell’s face, but doesn’t followup on the advantage. Bagwell strikes Eaton in the corner and sits Eaton on the top rope. Bagwell tries for a superplex, but Eaton shoves Bagwell off. Eaton proceeds to hit the Alabama Jam to pin Bagwell cleanly. (*1/2. Ross kind of buried Bagwell on commentary saying that he’s not on the level of Eaton, but is trying to get to that level. That killed the creditability Bagwell had to win the match in my eyes. This was a simple bout and a good clean win for Eaton.)

3.) Jim Ross highlights the Steiner Brothers showing footage from their match back at Starrcade 1990.

4.) Steiner Brothers easily win their enhancement match easily when Scott pinned Sullivan after a top rope bulldog by Rick.

5.) Jim Ross notes that there’s a cage match between Abdullah the Butcher and Cactus Jack at the Omni where in order to win the match they have to throw their opponent over the top of the cage. I’ve never heard of the that stipulation before.

6.) Rick and Cactus kickoff the tag match with Rick hammering away on Cactus. Cactus elbows Rick in the corner and delivers an elbow strike. Rick catches Cactus and hits a belly to belly suplex. Scott tags into the match, but is backed into a corner. Scott fights off Cactus and Butcher. Scott powerslams Butcher and is fired up. Scott hits a snap suplex on Butcher for a two count. Butcher stops Scott with an eye rake. Butcher keeps Scott on the mat with a nerve hold. Cactus leaps off the top to strike Scott over the back. Cactus rams Scott into the corner, but Scott sends Cactus into the ropes and hits a hip toss. Scott continues with an overhead suplex. Rick enters the match, but Cactus stops Rick with a strike and splashes onto Rick over the middle rope. Butcher tries to hit Rick with his stick, but accidentally hits Cactus. Rick decks Cactus with a clothesline and pins Cactus for the win. After the match, Cactus and Butcher come to blows ending their partnership. (*. The whole point of this was to display the lunatic nature of Cactus and Butcher.)

7.) Jesse Ventura provides insight on the WCW World Championship match between Lex Luger and Sting at Superbrawl II. Ventura has returned to wrestling because of the match between Luger and Sting. Ventura puts over Luger’s strength and durability. Ventura also puts over Sting’s finishing move and the fans support. Ventura notes that you’ve got to beat the champion to win the title.

8.) Sting dominates his enhancement match against the Medic and wins the match with the Scorpion Death Lock.

9.) Missy Does The Mail segment is next. Missy denies having ever met Bill Clinton. Missy promotes the steel cage match between Cactus Jack and Abdullah The Butcher. We see footage of a match between El Gigante and Cactus Jack. Butcher was there helping Cactus, but Cactus thought Butcher hit him with the stick and attacked Butcher. Missy thinks Cactus and Butcher like to hurt each other and hopes both their careers end. Missy is upset about what happened to her at the Clash of Champions. Butcher grabbed Missy and dumped her into water. Missy freaked out.

10.) Austin backs Steamboat into the corner, but they have a stare down with neither man budging. Steamboat blocks a punch and strikes Austin several times. They trade pin attempts until Steamboat atomic drops Austin and gets a victory roll for a two count. Steamboat takes Austin down for another two count. Steamboat nearly wins with an inside cradle and another rollup. Steamboat shoulder blocks Austin for a near fall a couple of times. Steamboat kicks Austin to the floor. Steamboat hits a suicide dive onto Austin on the floor. Steamboat rolls Austin into the ring, but Austin decks Steamboat over the back. Steamboat comes off the ropes to deliver another crossbody. Steamboat sends Austin into the ropes, but Austin runs the ropes and misses a crossbody falling to the floor. Steamboat hooks Austin for a suplex from the apron, but Austin counters. Steamboat puts a sleeper on Austin, but Austin doesn’t submit. Steamboat tries for a rollup, but is sent into the corner and Austin backdrops Steamboat to gain the momentum. Austin scoop slams Steamboat and heads to the top rope. Steamboat strikes Austin on the top and slams Austin to the mat.

Steamboat heads to the top rope and overhand strikes Austin. Steamboat pummels Austin with right hands in the corner. Madusa gets on the apron, but Steamboat blocks a kick attempt and is clotheslined by Austin. Austin pulls Steamboat off the ropes and slams Steamboat to the mat. Austin drops Steamboat over the top rope throat first. Austin eye rakes Steamboat as there are four minutes remaining in the time limit. Austin strikes Steamboat several times in the corner. Austin is sent chest first into the corner. Steamboat chops Austin several times, but Austin throws Steamboat to the floor. Austin axe handles Steamboat from the apron and rams Steamboat into the railing. Austin drops Steamboat throat first over the railing. Austin hooks Steamboat on the apron and delivers a suplex into the ring for a two count. Steamboat sunset flips Austin, but doesn’t get a three count. Austin quickly clotheslines Steamboat and hits a gut wrench suplex for a near fall. Steamboat plants Austin with a back suplex and both men are down as one minute remains in the time limit.

Steamboat runs the ropes and collides heads with Austin. Austin counters a slam attempt and nearly pins Steamboat. Austin scoop slams Steamboat, but misses an elbow drop. Steamboat hits a swinging neckbreaker, but the time limit expires. After the match, Austin attacks Steamboat, but Madusa accidentally kicks Austin and is scared to the floor by Steamboat. (***. The time limit finish is always a lame one, but it makes sense to make sure neither man suffers a loss. These two have strong chemistry and I enjoyed the action throughout prior to the draw finish.)

Final Thoughts:
A good episode of Power Hour as the main event was enjoyable and a strong match to have on the show. I think they did a good job promoting Cactus vs. Butcher in the cage for the Omni, as well.
