Angle Developments/Notes:
1.) Sting & Nikita Koloff won their enhancement match when Sting forced Parker to submit to the Scorpion Death Lock. Koloff nailed Smothers with a Russian Sickle in the corner, as well.

2.) Jim Ross and Michael Hayes chat about Hyatt’s hotline and Ross wants Hayes to call the hotline before they end the program. Hayes talks about Anderson and Eaton beating the Steiner Brothers and it’s not an upset. Hayes focuses on Terry Gordy promising it is coming his way.

3.) Bobby Eaton and Arn Anderson won their enhancement match when Eaton forced Maggs to submit to an arm bar.

4.) The Barbarian won his enhancement match following a big boot in short order.

5.) Jim Ross and Michael Hayes talk about the Clash of the Champions that recently took place and they focus on Brad Armstrong being stripped of the WCW Light Heavyweight Championship due to injury. We see footage of Brian Pillman having an attitude shift and calling Armstrong a piece of garbage. Pillman considers Armstrong a coward and slapped Armstrong. We also see footage of the eight man elimination match that took place. Jake Roberts pinned Sting to win the elimination match. Roberts will be wrestling Sting at Halloween Havoc in a Spin The Wheel, Make The Deal.

6.) The tag match is joined in progress as Slater puts a headlock on Zenk. Zenk counters with a top wrist lock, but is taken down to the mat. Slater gets a two count. Valentine tags into the match and chops Zenk, but misses an elbow drop. Bagwell tags in and yanks on Valentine’s arm. Bagwell keeps a wrist lock on Valentine, but is backed into the corner. Valentine backs Bagwell into a corner and delivers a shoulder ram followed by a chop in the corner. Bagwell strikes Valentine and fights back with right hands out of the corner. Bagwell puts a hammerlock on Valentine, but Valentine counters with a hammerlock. Valentine snapmares Bagwell followed by a leg drop. Bagwell dropkicks Valentine for a two count. Bagwell tries for a hip toss, but Valentine decks Bagwell with a clothesline. Valentine headbutts Bagwell on the lower midsection. Slater strikes Bagwell agains the ropes and rams Bagwell into the corner. Slater stomps Bagwell in the corner several times.

Slater clubs Bagwell over the back, and eye rakes Bagwell before hitting a back suplex for a two count. Valentine stomps Bagwell on the mat several times. Valentine puts a single leg Boston Crab on Bagwell, but doesn’t submit. Bagwell backdrops Slater and Zenk tags into the match. Zenk slams Slater and hits a dropkick. Zenk dropkicks Valentine in the corner. Zenk slams Slater for a two count, but Valentine makes the save. Zenk puts a sleeper on Slater, but Valentine comes off the top rope to axe handle Zenk leading to a three count. (**. For what was shown, I thought it was a decent tag match. Zenk and Bagwell could be a fun team if they were given a push.)

7.) Rhodes and Cactus start to brawl on the aisle to kickoff the main event. Rhodes pummels Cactus on the floor with right hands. Rhodes continues with an elbow strike. Cactus tries for a slam, but Rhodes gets a two count with an inside cradle on the floor. Rhodes kicks Cactus several times on the floor. Cactus slams Rhodes onto the concrete floor for a two count. Cactus sunset flips Rhodes from the apron for another two count. Rhodes kicks Cactus on the aisle. Rhodes punches Cactus as they head towards the interview podium. Rhodes rams Cactus onto the podium leading to a near fall. Rhodes hits a snap suplex on the podium for a near fall. Rhodes continues to ram Cactus into various objects on the floor. Rhodes pummels Cactus on the floor some more. Rhodes rolls Cactus into the ring and puts a sleeper on Cactus. Cactus drops to his knees as Rhodes keeps the sleeper locked in. Cactus rolls to the floor and Rhodes follows. Rhodes rams Cactus into the apron and looks for a bulldog, but Cactus sends Rhodes shoulder first into the ring post. Cactus slams a table onto Rhodes at ringside. Cactus grabs a chair at ringside and whacks Rhodes over the head. Cactus slams the chair onto Rhodes again. Rhodes stops Cactus with a back suplex onto the concrete floor. Rhodes tries for a cover, but Cactus kicks out at two. They collide on clothesline attempts and Cactus gets a two count. Rhodes hits Cactus with a chair shot and they return to the ring. Rhodes hits Cactus with the chair a couple of times. Rhodes whacks Cactus over the back and misses a running clothesline going over the top to the floor. Cactus leaps off the apron to elbow drop Rhodes and picks up the win! (**1/2. I was not expecting Cactus win here, but I love it. Cactus winning a match that he’d an expert at would be a logical decision. I enjoyed their brawling and I consider this a good main event without extreme elements.)

8.) Missy Does The Mail hosted by Missy Hyatt is next. Hyatt talks about Terry Gordy and Buddy Roberts having thoughts about Michael Hayes associating with Anderson and Eaton, but we’ve got to call the hotline. (Why would Gordy care at this point since he’s tag champs with Williams anyway?)

Final Thoughts:
A solid episode of WCW Main Event with a good main event bout. WCW continues to produce fun one hour programming.
