Angle Developments/Notes:
1.) Gorilla Monsoon and Bobby Heenan are on commentary. Monsoon notes that Survivor Series was perfect, which frustrates Heenan. WWF World Champion Bret Hart successfully retained the championship. Heenan tells Mr. Perfect it is not over and it is just beginning. Heenan promises they will do a number on Perfect.
2.) Special Report hosted by Lord Alfred Hayes is next. Hayes focuses on Ric Flair and Razor Ramon. Hayes notes they were mad about Perfect turning on them. We see footage from after Survivor Series where Ramon and Flair flip out in the parking lot. Ramon says he’s going to carve Perfect up. Flair declares that Perfect is on borrowed time.
3.) WrestleMania IX is going to be taking place at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas on April 4th.
4.) The mysterious clown is seen in the crowd after Papa Shango won his squash match.
5.) Lance Cassidy cut a pre-tape promo during his match saying that gives 100% at everything does and says it’s going to be a long, fun ride in the WWF. Cassidy won his enhancement match with a top rope flying clothesline.
6.) Mean Gene conducted a podium interview with WWF Intercontinental Champion Shawn Michaels. Michaels thinks some congratulations are in order for the new champion. Michaels says if he knew it was so easy to become champion then he wouldn’t have been so footloose and fancy. Michaels is open to any challenger, including Marty Jannetty. Michaels reminds us that he tossed Jannetty through the Barber Shop window. Gene has information that Michaels hasn’t expressed any care for the wellbeing of Sensational Sherri. Michaels claims that Jannetty intentionally hurt Sherri while Michaels did everything he could to protect Sherri. Michaels tells Sherri to wait by the phone and when he gets a chance he’ll call Sherri. Michaels is going to prove he’s the man that he says he is the sexiest WWF Intercontinental Champion of all time.
7.) Rev. Slick provides a sermon and gives thanks to all the fans for the warm reception he received at Survivor Series. Slick claims he’s seen the light and says he’s a new man with a new determination. Slick is thankful for living in the country and have freedoms. He’s thankful to be back in the WWF.
8.) Razor Ramon provided pre-tape comments saying that he’s going to cut down Mr. Perfect for double crossing him.
9.) Next week, Mr. Perfect will be on the show. Bam-Bam Bigelow returns to in-ring action, and the Headshrinkers will be in action. Crush and Marty Jannetty will also be in action.
Final Thoughts:
Not a whole lot coming out of Survivor Series as we now face a long build towards WrestleMania. Sure, Royal Rumble is in January, but the main focus there is going to be the Rumble match itself. It appears that the main focus for house shows is likely going to be matches between Mr. Perfect and Razor Ramon. Shawn Michaels did very well in his promo of coming across as a complete douche who doesn’t care about Sherri, at all.
