1. We hear from Jake Roberts as Ted DiBiase won his squash match. Roberts ended up making his way down to the ring with Damien. Roberts attacked DiBiase and sent him over the top to the floor with a clothesline. Roberts gains possession of the Million Dollar Championship and the crowd is going nuts! Roberts puts the belt in the bag with Damien! DiBiase was left in the ring with Virgil livid over what happened.
2. It’s time for the Brother Love show again this week. His guest this week is the WWF World Champion Hulk Hogan! Hogan hopes he gets the number one entrant because he believes that Hulkamania is stronger than it has ever been. He wants to prove that Hulkamania can beat anyone. Hogan believes that just showing his muscles will win the Rumble. Yeah, go ahead and try that one, champ. Hogan is calling out the Ultimate Warrior already believing he will have the ultimate victory. Brother Love tells Hogan that Mr. Perfect is going to win the Royal Rumble. Hogan is perfectly fine with that and says he would have the perfect victory at Mania!
It was a better show compared to last week. The squash matches were actually interesting to me as I like most of the talent that was showcased on the program this week. Also, the angle progression between Roberts and DiBiase was nicely done and the crowd was really behind Roberts as this time. The Brother Love segment was, again, lackluster to me. It kind of spoils what is going on when the champion already calls out the Warrior. I’m hoping that after the pay per view the hype for Mania doesn’t start so quickly because all of the shows leading into Rumble were essentially just hype up jobs for the bigger event. I’ll give this show a mild thumbs up, though.
Thanks for reading.
