Written by: Bob Colling

World Wrestling Federation presents Superstars
Date:
5/5/1990
From: Austin, TX

Matches:
1.)Mr. Perfect defeated Jimmy Snuka in a WWF Intercontinental Title Tournament Match
2.)The Rockers defeated Chris Duffy & Al Polic
3.)Jake Roberts defeated Buddy Rose
4.)Greg Valentine & the Honkytonk Man defeated Dennis Miller & Tony Ulysses
5.)Randy Savage defeated Mario Mancini
6.)Jim Duggan defeated The Brooklyn Brawler

Angle Developments/Notes:
1. Snuka works over Perfect during the opening moments of the contest but Perfect is able to get a quick scoop slam in. Snuka isn’t all that affected and chops Perfect to the floor. Perfect rolls through a springboard cross body and nearly steals the victory. Perfect trips Snuka in the corner and puts his feet on the ropes to steal the win. After the match, Snuka is complaining to the referee that he put his feet on the ropes. The referee asks Perfect who denies it, obviously. Snuka attacks Perfect and chops Perfect. Snuka sends Perfect over the top with a head butt allowing Perfect to head to the backstage area.

2. We see footage from WrestleMania VI where Andre the Giant turned face by attacking Bobby Heenan and Haku after they lost the tag team titles to Demolition. Bobby Heenan shares some comments saying that when Andre crawls back to them he will slap him in the face just like he did at WrestleMania.

3. After winning his squash match, Jake Roberts is cut off by Bad News Brown. Brown has realized that it was Roberts who put the snake in the box a few weeks ago. Brown is going to end Roberts when he gets his hands on him. Roberts suggests Brown come to the ring right now. Brown decides to make his way down to ringside and Roberts thinks Brown has a nice yellow line on his back. Brown decides against coming into the ring. So, Roberts leaves the ring and Brown runs away.

4. We hear comments from Dusty Rhodes after seeing footage from WrestleMania VI. Rhodes says he didn’t feel anything when Sapphire was forced to kiss Savage’s feet. Rhodes knew what had to be done and says that Sapphire will be by his side whenever he needs her. They will be having tag matches against Savage and Brother Love on the house show market.

Final Thoughts:
I was kind of disappointed not to see a Brother Love segment as that would make this a more enjoyable show, for sure. The Perfect/Snuka match wasn’t too good and the angle between Roberts and Brown is just the same stuff Roberts has been doing with other wrestlers anyway. A boring episode this time around.

Thanks for reading.
