World Wrestling Federation presents Superstars
Date: 4/17/1993
From: North Charleston, SC
Matches:
1.)Crush defeated Glen Ruth
2.)The Headshrinkers defeated Ron Preston & JD Stryker
3.)Mr. Perfect defeated Barry Hardy
4.)Bam-Bam Bigelow defeated Owen Hart
5.)Yokozuna defeated Chris Katowski
Angle Developments/Notes:
1. Bam-Bam Bigelow says that Owen Hart is going down in flames. While Owen says that Bigelow will be the launching pad he needs in the WWF!
2. We see footage from WrestleMania IX where WWF Intercontinental Champion Shawn Michaels attacked Mr. Perfect backstage and hit him with a trash can several times.
3. Owen dropkicks Bigelow to open the bout but Bigelow is able to kick Owen in the head to gain the advantage. Owen kicks Bigelow in the head as well and heads to the top rope to hit a missile dropkick! Bigelow kicks out of a sunset flip pin attempt as Owen is getting some quality offense in. Bigelow dropkicks Owen to the floor and rams him head first into the ring apron. Owen shoulder blocks Bigelow from the apron and goes for a crucifix but is instead slammed down to the canvas. Bigelow drops Owen chest first over the top rope. Bigelow lifts Owen up into the air and Owen falls gut first down to the mat. Bigelow weakens Owen down some more with a bear hug. Owen tries for a scoop slam but Bigelow falls on top of him for a near fall! Bigelow sends Owen chest first hard into the a corner. Owen tries to go for a springboard but suffers a knee injury, which is legit. Bigelow scoop slams Owen and finishes him off with a diving head butt off the top. A fine little television match put on by these two. It sucks to see Owen blow out his knee like that, but later in the year he would make a name for himself.
Final Thoughts:
A better episode compared to the last few weeks of Superstars. The featured match was a good, fast paced match between two good workers. Aside from that, there wasn’t a lot happening here but I thought it was a fine episode.
